If we have members in this area hopefully they are OK. There was not much warning, local news didn't have us in an elevated risk area until just prior to the event. It was a small cell that blew up fast. 4 dead and a lot of property damage in the small communities of Three Rivers and Union City. At this point they are thinking it was in the EF2-3 range.

Safe here in Hillsdale County. St. Joseph, Branch and Calhoun counties were affected. Branch and Calhoun adjoin our county.

I was called in to work at my EMS job to backfill for crews that were on scene immediately following the tornado. Worked about 8 hours overnight, came home and got about 3 hours sleep before going in to work at the store. We had to drive through the path last night. Huge response, unbelievable devatation.

Good lord.

The tornado flew over my cousin's place and touched down ~5 miles away

I grew up about 30 minutes north of Three Rivers. My father is head of maintenance for a group that owns/flies a Piper Archer II. It's been at Three Rivers airport at the FBO for its annual and some repairs, and he is there daily cleaning, polishing, etc. He left the airport 10 minutes before the tornado tore through town. He saw it in his rear view mirror.

No damage to the airport or any aircraft. Ironically, just a few years ago a similar tornado tore through my home town, it still has not fully recovered.

You guys below the bridge have had some wild weather. The 2025 ice storm and now this!

We've sure had our share of tornadoes over the last couple years. We live between Battle Creek and Marshall and haven't had direct tornado damage but did have some from hail associated with a tornado that hit about five miles away two years ago.

I worked in Portage for nine years about a mile and a half from where the tornado caused significant damage in '24.

This started just 5 or 6 miles west of where I live. And yes there was not much warning. Luckily I had no damage. Unfortunately though the little 12 year old that died in this mess went to school and was in band with my grandson. Please keep his parents and loved ones in your prayers.

Seems a bit early for tornados.

Weather has been pretty volatile lately in our area. There was like a 30-40 degree temperature shift within a couple of hours that day, and stuff got crazy real fast.

I live about 45 minutes south of Three Rivers, MI, and from what I'm told it got pretty windy that day but we didn't get any major damage locally. I'm out of state at the moment, so I'm hoping I don't come home to a mess later this week.

Per the local news weather of last night and today’s NWS website we are at risk of more storms Tuesday. Not looking forward to this storm season with it beginning so early across the Lower Peninsula.

Years ago the upper part of the Lower Peninsula seemed to miss the severe weather, anything north of Arenac County up was “safe” so to speak. That has been changing specially in the last twenty years.

1956 or 57 a tornado passed near our home in Farmington Township. As it was mainly open land and farms the major damage were downed trees, I remember that storm too well. Still have the photos my mother took of the downed trees around us.

Grew up on a farm West and a bit North of Lansing (just outside Fowler if you know Central Michigan)

Not long after I got my driver's license, (1966) we went to a movie in St. Johns, Mom, Dad and little brother in one car, me in Dad's ragged-out '56 Chevy for some reason.

About a half-hour into the movie, it stopped and an announcement came on the screen "Tornadoes in the area, go home."

Drove home about 10 miles in heavy rain, and about a mile and a half from home hit a downpour heavy enough I had to stop, couldn't see.

Got home safely, thought nothing of it. Got up the next morning, Grandpa's barn was in a pile, an old chicken coop on our side of the road was gone completely (never did find any identifiable pieces of it) and some other minor damage. I assume that downpour was part of the tornado passing.

In the town of Fowler about a mile away as the crow flies, the High School was hit hard and a couple of houses had the whole front wall torn off, looked like doll houses.

No local fatalities that I recall.

Just got home from Florida. Drove up today because they were forecasting rain the whole way tomorrow, and I didn't want to deal with that. It's currently 66 degrees and I'm walking the dog in the same tshirt and shorts I was wearing when we left Pensacola this morning. Except I'm now in Northern Indiana. In March.

Low of 30 here tomorrow. Wife was reading on the way up and told me they're calling for storms with up to 2" hail tonight, and possible tornadoes. We should have stayed in Florida.

We ended up just getting a bunch of rain, but a couple of people got killed an hour or so west of us over towards the IL state line. Guess it got pretty wild over there.
