A dry cough can be caused by blood pressure meds (ACE inhibitors), acid reflux, postnatal drip and other things (age related).

I’m still unable to smell certain things like aftershave, whiskey, citrus, etc.

I was hospitalized twice in 2021 with pneumonia in all lobes. Almost put on a ventilator both times.

After being told I’d probably be on oxygen the rest of my life I started back hiking without the O2. Started out real small.

Got back in the gym and worked hard. I coughed up a lot of stuff.

I did a 20 mile Mammoth March last year and I’m doing another one in May. At my last physical, they could still hear some popping in my lungs but I’m in the best shape of my life. Weights, elliptical, kettlebells, sand bags, distance hiking, speed hiking, etc.

I’m 54.

But I’m guessing I’ll never fully regain my sense of smell.

I hadn't heard about acid reflux causing a cough. I just stopped taking Omeprazole after five yrs on it. I weaned myself off it and think I will start up again every other day. But I have a cough now. Everything else is fine, but the cough.

FWIW, I think I was Covid patient zero. I came back from China in December, 2019 and got deathly ill in late Jan. We had friends from China stay with us around that time. That was before they had any tests for it. But I got it two more times a few years later. What I have now feels nothing like that.

In 2020 I was sick off and on for a couple weeks. NOT testing positive for Covid. Then after a couple cycles of being sick, I finally did. After that I went about 4 more months of mostly okay for a couple weeks (though still some coughing), to sick for a couple weeks. This same cycle over and over. I was finally given antibiotics for a presumed sinus infection, even though I didn't have the usual signs. It worked, but even after that, I still had the constant "cigarette smell" in my nose all the time for several weeks. Doing nasal/sinus flushes finally got rid of that as well.

Late December of 2023 I got sick for a week and a half. Mostly got over it, then sick again a couple weeks later. (here we go again) Now this time, other than not finally testing positive for Covid until mid-late February, the whole process has been EXACTLY the same as it was before. Months of it off and on. Presumed sinus infection, antibiotics, cigarette smell...
April is days away, I'm still bringing up a little junk coughing.

I don't know what you call it, but it was the same 4 month, to almost 6 month deal the first time, twice now.

^^^ Tell that to those that are bedridden from covid. They are out there.

As for the OP, after I caught the Hunan flu, I had a persistent cough for a while. Eventually realized it went away. Yours will too.

Maybe it's the whooping cough, which is spiking now in the north bay. Typically makes the rounds every 3-5 years.

It's nice to wake up in the morning and not have to blow out my sinuses in the shower. Haven't had bronchitis or sinusitis for a few years. Inflammation is predominantly diet related.

I have a semi persistent cough since RSV exposure in January. It's a productive cough and not at all like the dry covid cough. I'm also almost officially an old fart. I'm chalking it up to that.

Although I believe most of the COVID stuff to be Bullshit, I was hospitalized during the pandemic with (COVID) pneumonia. That was 2 years ago, and have had issues since. I’ve had a lung CT scan every 6 months, which has shown various spots that have slowly been clearing.

What I find curious is where did influenza go?

Pre-Covid, it was going to kill everyone. It was such a big deal that we were required to get a flu vaccine yearly or be forced to wear a mask while at work. Yet, for the past five winters...crickets.

I suspect ain't nobody buying this shit anymore.

I had something before it was thing. Worst ever. I officially had the wuflu late '22. The only lasting thing I can attribute is my sense of smell is slightly different. I don't image covid is any different than any other potentially severe illness. Sometimes there lasting damage.

How many shots have you had? The more shots the more it would sway towards vaccine injury more so than Covid related.

Me too except for the 'slightly' modifier. I have very little of that sense with one exception, smoke. Wood smoke, tobacco smoke, eggs (don't ask), motor exhaust all come through.

I’d be more inclined to agree you may have a new allergy to pollen. Check with you doc, or try one of the OTC allergy meds for 2 to 3 weeks and see if the cough goes away. May or may not be related to COVID or the Vax.

Do you smoke cigarettes?

That's good...

Dr. Patterson thinks ‘long vax’ and long covid are similar, both related to lingering spike protein, but long covid is caused by viral infection.

On Saturday, the Epoch Times ran a story headlined, “Vaccinated People Show Long COVID-Like Symptoms With Detectable Spike Proteins: Preprint Study.”

Epoch’s article referenced a March 24th preprint study by thirteen authors with the wordy title, “Persistence of S1 Spike Protein in CD16+ Monocytes up to 245 Days in SARS-CoV-2 Negative Post COVID-19 Vaccination Individuals with Post-Acute Sequalae of COVID-19 (PASC)-Like Symptoms”

The gist was researchers studied 50 covid-naive (never infected) patients with long covid symptoms who’d gotten at least one of the covid vaccines. They extracted immune cells from 14 post-vaccine patients, finding that almost all of them (13) had spike protein in their immune cells — up to 245 days after their last jab. (Asymptomatic vaccinees showed no spike.)

Remember, they promised the mRNA spike could not possibly persist in the body for 245 days (or more). The mRNA was supposed to completely clear within hours. They impatiently explained to us morons that mRNA is very delicate and is quickly metabolized. But of course, the jabs don’t use natural mRNA, which is, in fact, delicate. Instead the jabs use super-sturdy artificial mRNA, which was basically designed to last forever.

And somehow, the people’s own immune cells got transfected by jab mRNA — something else that was never supposed to happen. The mRNA was supposed to safely stay in shoulder muscle cells near the injection site. Whoopsies! And now, one wonders how people’s immune systems can clear the body’s cells transfected with spike protein if the immune system itself was transfected.

Another broken promise.

You probably won’t be surprised to learn the transfection of immune cells reminded the researchers of how HIV and hepatitis C viruses work. Lead researcher Dr. Patterson even reported successfuly treating long covid patients using an HIV drug. Apparently it works so well, it is currently his preferred treatment modality. Patterson thinks ‘long vax’ and long covid are similar, both related to lingering spike protein, but long covid is caused by viral infection.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
