With ethanol, ANYTHING is possible. Had a Stihl saw from 1977, the most reliable gas engine I ever owned. Sit for a year, two, three.. a couple pulls it would start. Then one day some years ago it wouldn't. I started to take it apart and noticed the fuel line from the tank to the carb was gone! Eek

The tank and the carb both still had maybe 3/4" of tube, the ends all dark and "melted", but everything in between just wasn't there anymore.

If it starts easily and runs fine, DON'T mess with the carberator. It could've been your spark plug the entire time.

This brought back a very old memory of a saying, "'Carburetor' is French for 'leave it alone.'"
