Actually? Very little. I mean, the girlfriend and I will be taking the next step soon where she gets +100 to wife status... And the goal is to build a house further out of the area and have a little space. We may accelerate that, but that's about it.

Skins2881I want to learn how to can stuff, I give away all my stuff from my garden because you can only eat so many tomatoes and cucumbers a day. It'd be nice to be able to save them for winter consumption.
Rebuild my savings.
Some water filtration stuff might be a good idea. All I have in that department is a couple of life straws.
I'd love to take a vacation one day. Not in the cards for the foreseeable future.

Rev. A. J. ForsythInstall a stand alone bidet.
Have more dried goods on hand.
Keep at least 240 cans of Studweseir in the basement.
Remember that my time on this rock is a mine, and the protection of those less fortunate is important so I will argue violently with every granola eating, anti vaxxer commie puke in my neighborhood that fails to understand scientific principals like herd immunity.

Pale HorseThis thing is costing me a lot of money.
So for at least 6 months or so I’m going to be very serious about stacking money away to try and make up for what I lost. It’s also probably going to push my timeline for buying a home back.
Then I’ll likely go back to the way I was living before. I’m pretty well prepared for this so I see no need to change my life too much.

Never understood the need for stand alone freezers, then I bought a counter depth side by side fridge. I can't even fit a frozen pizza in it. I may be considering on in the future.

I've been saying this all along

Honestly, not much. We are pretty well stocked with food, guns, and ammo. We live 300 yards from the deepest lake in the state, and the headwaters of a major river, so water isn't a problem. Plenty of food canned in the basement, and fish in the lake if food does get short. TP doesn't scare me...we're pretty well set, I do my pooping at work, and worst case scenario I'll jump in the shower to wash my ass.
I might establish some new minimums for how many canned goods we have on hand, and a generator might be nice, just in case the power goes out. Other than that, pretty much nothing.

Not a darn thing.

tleo205One thing I will be sure to do is to give all my future business to merchants who stayed open and refused to panic and close down completely. Some changed/shortened their hours and some likely realize that closing completely would mean their total demise, but they haven't given in to the hysteria whipped up by the politicians and media.

r0gueI will be more deliberate with my time, and my mind. I'll give more of it to my family. 100 years or two more weeks, it'll never be enough.

HayesGreenerMrs Greener and I were just discussing yesterday how America will change the way things are done in a big way. I think people will discover a lot of the things they have been doing, like vacation trips, cruises, amusement parks, movie theatres, concerts, etc., can be forgone without ill effect. Home activities like crafts, gardening, etc. may become more popular. I think the really big shift may be towards telecommuting, teleconferencing, online classes, online shopping, home deliveries of everything, etc. Fuel consumption by individuals will be reduced while it will increase with delivery services if there is significant reduction in daily commuting. It will be interesting to look back in 5 years to see what has changed.

White PhosphorusOne of the big threats to businesses is going to be changes in people's habits. People have tried online food delivery, online shopping, etc. A lot will change over to these methods once they've tried them.
Personally, I used to stop and get something to eat after work. I liked sitting by the window and watching the world go by for a few minutes. I'm probably going to cut that back. I'll gain more time to finish work at home and more time to sleep, not to mention a better diet.
Amazon is going to gain market share over this. The government has really screwed brick and mortar venues.

ggileI'm not sure I'll make any specific changes in the way I do things.
I learned a lot of things, especially about human nature, that may have an affect on the way I do things in a future pandemic.
The government may initiate some changes for us.

DanI wonder if we'll see a significant decrease in smoking rates. Perhaps vaping and marijuana use. Anything that affects the lungs. I'm doubtful, but it would be a positive. Same with obesity.
I'd love a reason to stop shaking hands. Same with wearing ties, which have long been known as a carrier of contagion in medical settings. This will definitely advance telecommuting as a big part of our economy.
I don't foresee myself changing much.
