There are lots of problems with the TSA, but it boils down to their inability to perform targeted risk-based screening based on current threat analysis. This would of course involve "profiling", and we all know that is a dirty word in this country even when it's based on intelligence data and not simply color/race/religion. People would rather we all be subject to invasive personal screening than accept the fact that security is a complicated and dynamic process that is not a one size fits all method.
