I agree with the article entirely. This one item is not exactly incorrect, but just a little misleading. You are not denied Social Security if you refuse to enroll in part A. You aren't even asked if you want to enroll in part A. You get it automatically when you collect Social Security and attain age 65. This is a PDF file that has all of the questions that you will be asked if you file for retirement. Read it carefully and you will note that you are not asked if you want to enroll in part A. You are only asked if you want to file for part B. There is no cost (to the beneficiary) for part A. You are enrolled automatically in part A. https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-1-bk.pdf

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
Another fact not mentioned in all these rosy pictures. The large amount of money spent on healthcare in our more open market has largely funded development of new treatments and drugs everywhere. If that stops, as it would under any of these socialists plans, advances in medicine will slow down if not stop. Not just here but the potential to cash in on new developments helps fund research all over the world. Unfortunately these socialists don't seem to grasp the concepts of real world economics too well until long after the fact. Even then, they always seem to blame others. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Everything you hear from Warren and Sanders is bullshit... they are running for the dimocrat party nomination and feeling pressure from the idiot leftists. Whoever wins the nomination will swiftly pivot towards the center because they know (well, maybe the senile Sander's doesn't) that they cannot win with this level of odiocy. Hopefully they will continue with this stupidity and make Trump's reelection easier.

"I Care" - Emotional Billionaire Cooperman Breaks Out In Tears Over American Political Divide Just a few short days since Leon Cooperman took Democratic Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren to task over her policies that will destroy the American Dream: “But this is the f---ing American dream she is s----ing on.” The hedge fund manager agreed to a lengthy interview with CNBC. It was wide-ranging and pushed the billionaire to tears. "I don't need Elizabeth Warren telling me I'm a dead beat..." She is "screwing around with the wrong guy... I want to give it all away... but I want to control the decisions." On politicians: "They are in the soundbite business... not real policy discussions" Warren's wealth tax plan is “morally wrong.” “I don’t need Elizabeth Warren or the government giving away my money..." https://www.zerohedge.com/poli...can-political-divide "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Be prepared for loud noise and recoil |
Thread drift... My thought on medical care is that unlike any other market, we will all be forced to enter it at one time or another even if we don’t want to. That being said, what can we do to increase competition and innovation in the medical sector? Almost without exception, the capitalist system makes things better, faster, and cheaper for consumers. It seems heath care is the outlier. I think deregulation and transparency would be a good start. Thoughts? If this is too far off topic, I apologize. “Crisis is the rallying cry of the tyrant.” – James Madison "Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others." - Robert Louis Stevenson

A few thoughts: Supply and Demand.... There aren't enough billionaires to pay the taxes and if they have to liquidate their assets to pay her taxes they won't be billionaires anymore after a little while. There aren't enough medical services to supply all the patients with care, and even if there were no one would waste their time going to medical school to earn the same as a taxi cab driver. Rich people and businesses do what's in their best interest. Rich people will move their money out of country and hospitals will stop accepting Medicare and move to cash only. If healthcare was free everyone would use it at twice the rate they do now, so put all those new people's burden on the system plus people who self ration health care even with insurance and the flood gates will open. We'd need to build thousands more hospitals and need 10's of thousands more doctors. Only problem is we've taken away for the incentive for people to become doctors and for businesses to build hospitals. Nice house of cards your are trying to build there Mrs. Warren, too bad it's windy out. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I thought Obamacare fixed all the problems with our health system. Apparently, and according to the fake Indian, it didn't but she's got a plan the will fix everything and less cost to me. Wonder where I've heard that before....

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli. |
If you recall the fight from years ago, their intent back then was to ultimately create a Medicare for all program. They can only shove so much down our throats at one time.

I wonder if Warren is planning to follow a plan like they use in Cuba? I know a Doctor that escaped from Cuba, where she was paid $25 a month by the government. No that is not a misprint, $25 a month is all she got. Warren's plan could work if Doctors got that kind of pay. I'm sure that people would be lined up to go to Med school for that kind of money. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^++ I am in healthcare, private practice and have been for forty years. Our system of payment is beyond complex. I am NOT WORRIED about any of the socialized medicine talk, because it stands NO CHANCE of passing. We already ration healthcare. You work for a union, you get GREAT care for the most part. If you work for the federal government you get great care. If you are a poor teacher in Mississippi working for the state, you have a two thousand dollar deductible to pay first. Sounds fair. Postal workers get better heathcare than teachers. If you have Medicaid, most doctors will not see you. It pays so little, and it is hard as a doctor to get paid for what you do. Medicare is slightly better. Prices are set by the government for Medicare and Medicaid. Tricare pays what Medicare pays, it is set by law. It is not even voodoo economics. I do not think other professionals believe in the Government setting fees and rationing services.

She is batshit crazy & her numbers don’t gel. My healthcare was fine until 0blundecare came on the scene. Government has already done enough to destroy HC insurance for the working class and won’t stop till it’s done the same for Medicare. Politicians are great on the delivery of shiny new objects when what we really need is something Teflon.. ______________________________________________ Life is short. After trying all day to schedule a colonoscopy.... I've decided to vote for Elizabeth Warren. There are just too many intermediaries involved in healthcare. Phone recordings, prompts, hangups, etc. just to try to get to a live person. Then, when you do, the people who don't call you back. Insurance companies, referral requirements. All of the incredible weight of the paperwork and bureaucracy that comes between the doctor and the patient and makes it so difficult and expensive. Now, don't get me wrong... I'd much rather have pure capitalism. I'd prefer price competition and I believe that would bring down prices. But if we can't have that, if we have this byzantine system with so many extraneous mouths to feed, I think I'd just like to go Cloward-Piven and bring about the final collapse. Sure, Medicare for All will bankrupt the country and collapse the system, but at least then we can start over. We will be trading chickens to our doctors for treatment. No money, no insurance. Just pure barter. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies.
