I used to actually look forward to Jay Leno's monologue. I can't imagine him ever resorting to peddling this vile, disgusting garbage.

I can only pray that people start walking away from him after this, but it seems as if his ratings have only gotten better since he's gone to trashing President Trump every night.

Yes, go after his sponsors, cause the network won't care otherwise.

Isn't free speech grand?

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Colbert's ratings were actually dropping significantly enough that the network was considering a time change/revamp until Trump won and Colbert had a new "target".

He will go away the same way the smarmy dude from MSNBC did after 2012. (Yeah, sorry I don't know their names and YES they are all smarmy. The guy I'm thinking of was especially douchy though.)

Is CBS still a television network? In fact, are NBC and ABC? I haven't watched anything emanating from those institutions in years.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

This is just more evidence of the coarsening of the culture that has been proceeding for a century or more. If you thrive on, or require, public attention, the easiest way is to be outrageous. "Outrageous" is a moving target, more outrageous than whatever the outrages were last season. Carlin was merely the leading edge.

There are some fairly outrageous comments made here about various public officials who are deemed to have earned some wrath.

I just sent a message to CBS, and mentioned that I would be refraining from their sponsor's products. It likely won't make any difference, but it makes me feel better!! Go Trump

Coll-burt is nothing new. His earlier incarnation, David Letterman, was just another Communist operative. He had no class at all, and regularly trashed any conservative who ventured on his program. Then he kissed up to Klinton version 1 or 2. Its just a leftist scam, supported by the sponsors who think we aren't smart enough to figure out who they are and dump their products.

Yes, I watched Leno because he at least was fair and also attacked the GDC about equally. I'm old and need to be in bed at that time anyhow. There is no fairness or equality in the MSM. Why watch?

I try not to get upset about people like Colbert mouthing off. He is irrelevant. I think Milo's response is perfect.

Colbert assumes the mantle of 'congenital asshole' to pander to his witless base. As others have stated, he's a paid communist-agitator. No surprise, that this vicious viper, would slither-down to these tasteless lows. He's about as entertaining, as a trip to a North Korean gulag.

This thread has amused the hell out of me. I think the "outrage" is totally over the top, but then again, I'm definitely not a Trump fan. There is obviously something wrong with him. Listen to his old interviews and then listen to the recent ones. Sounds a lot like my friend's dad when he began to develop dementia.

I'm not outraged at the comments, but I'm repulsed by the double-standards of these people. I can't tell also -- do you think Trump is getting dementia, or Colbert? Just curious.

I think it's pretty clear he is referring to President Trump.

The comments Colbert made on late night network TV don't outrage me (after all, I say things like that 30 times a day) as much as it makes me sad to think how classless our society has become that such things are apparently acceptable now. To defend it or just shrug your shoulders because you don't care for the person the comments are directed at is pretty pathetic.

My fellow man is a constant disappoint to me, and stuff like this only reaffirms that feeling.

Who is the one talking nonsense ?

http://www.breitbart.com/big-h...use-homophobic-slur/

Colbert yesterday:

“So while I would do it again, I would change a few words that were cruder than they needed to be,”

“I’m not going to repeat the phrase, but I just want to say for the record, life is short, and anyone who expresses their love for another person, in their own way, is to me, an American hero. I think we can all agree on that. I hope even the president and I can agree on that. Nothing else. But, that.”

Who gives a crap what Colbert agrees with ?

Another case of the MSM double standard. If Trump had said these words regarding Colbert you can guarantee that the 24/7 coverage would label him as a homophobe, crazy, out of control etc. Furthermore an "apology" referring to love and heros would elicit even more ridicule. That Colbert can essentially get a pass for this nonsense is troubling.

You know, when people troll and do a damn poor job of it, it is tolerable. Because anyone with a room temp IQ can see that they are trolling. But, when they end their little troll with stuff like this, you can tell they are either one step away from torching a CVS, or already have.

Seems to be a cry for attention.
