Title says it all. I'm looking for a Dallas-area realtor to act as a "buyer's agent" (if that's even a thing any more). I'd just like to start the discussion and develop the relationship now, make sure all my ducks are in a row, etc. We may be relocating, possibly within the next month or two, or possibly in the next year, depends on job prospects.

Having bought and sold a house there, I'd recommend you narrow down your potential area of purchase a bit and then find someone local to the area who will know the market, comps, other agents, etc.

It's a big freaking city. Just Dallas alone is about 3X the size of Atlanta for perspective, and most folks wouldn't just be looking broadly for an "Atlanta realtor.".

If you end up looking in the McKinney/Plano/Frisco/Allen areas I've got a great resource for you.

Fun facts for new residents, especially if you have kids. Population of DFW area is about the same as entire state of Washington and the state of TX is about 125% the size of the country of France. Plenty more abound, you'll love it there!

Good point, and I do understand the vastness of the area, as I drive through it on a somewhat regular basis.

Right now, the area would be from about 1 o'clock to 8 o'clock on the Dallas suburb ring area (Plano to Irving), which I realize is also a huge area, but it's about as narrowed-down as I can get at the moment.

FWIW, I have a ton of family and friends in the DFW Metro-mess, and Fort Worth is now the more desirable place to live, if that will work for you.

Best wishes to you.

Can't assist in Dallas, but have a great Houston realtor if your search brings you this far south.

IMO, I'd avoid Dallas-proper. Just my opinion from driving through it.
Had an uncle that lived in Highland Park for years. Nice area, but getting there through Dallas was a pain & I always ended up with phantom toll tickets.

Think you better go 8 o'clock to 1 o'clock otherwise you are in a whole different situation.

A lot will depend on the commute if you will be driving in.

I live in McKinney and drive most of Collin County for work. I would not want to drive any further than Richardson or Frisco from here on a regular basis.

If I can be f any assistance, please let me know.
