Just got back from one...Took my all-time favorite route know as the Black's Woods Road, which I used to do 2-3 times a month on the bike.

Every bit as much fun in the 'Vette!

I don't get how you all seem to be so focused on gas mileage, with gas the price you pay, I'd have something utterly bonkers, like a twin-turbocharged high-tune V10, and whale the almighty bejabbers out of it at every opportunity I got.

Life is a one-way street, friends - there's no turning round for a re-run.

Meanwhile, here in UK, my buddy Brett's favourite ride uses three to four imperial gallons just to start up, and driving around on his property, maybe - on a good day - four to five gallons per mile.

Is it fun? You bet - it's called a Chieftain Main Battle Tank.

I when I bought my 2006 drove it from Sacramento to home in MO. I challenged myself to see how good of gas mileage I could get. With the exception of the flats west of Salt Lake I stayed at the speed limit. Until I reached the bumper to bumper rush hr Kansas City traffic I reach 32.3/mpg. Never got that again since I loved getting on it.

I'm retired and on a tight budget, plus I'm just naturally cheap...

If I had to pay European fuel prices - or even California prices - I'd be driving a Prius and walking a lot.

Had an '88 many years ago with the 4L60 4 speed auto. I thought you would've gotten 22-23 MPG.

Had a '03 Z06 as well and in 6th gear, that thing got pretty good mileage. Had to been close to 30 MPG.

Sometimes I miss having a sports car. Might end up getting one again one day.
