First question is why are you replacing them are they damaged? unable to work to hold the load? IF they just look like crap, try one of your local shops to do a refurb on the leafs, unless the metals fatigued or cracked that might be a cost effective method.

Heres googles idea on the top brake and spring shop locally... presuming I got yer local correct.

https://www.superspringandbrake.com/

Lots of local places listed near you in CT
have you tried them?

https://www.yellowpages.com/ha...ring-equipment-parts

Or DIY them

Thanks for the links. The springs are 34 years old and during the first 15 years of their life they were overused routinely carrying and holding too much load. For the last 15 years they were crushed pretty good multiple times and the trailer was stored outside and rusting.

For a set of springs it was going to cost me $70 from TrailerParts.com, but they just refuse to ship them even after stating they have them in stock and took my money. (I think they are sick of me asking and they just canceled my order yesterday.)

Taking them to a spring shop to test and refurbish would cost much more than $70 and I'm already over budget and over time on this project.

I did try most - not all - of the local places in the area and nobody had the springs I was looking for.

When I had called multiple spring companies here in the area, nobody seemed interested in helping me at all. Lots of hemming and hawing.

Your suggestion to contact Tri City Spring was a good one. Just got off the phone with a guy there who was very helpful. Triple and quadruple checking measurements. He said they had the spring in-stock at their mill in Harrisburg and would try to ship today.

He's going to give me a call back to confirm, so hopefully this will be good news.

I forgot to jump in on this. Everywhere has a decent local spring company. Springs are a way of life on trucks. And there is someone who deals with it and they fix you up as well. You just need to find it. Once you do, all will be good.

So Tri City Spring seems to have made everything happen quickly. It's possible the springs might show up at my house tomorrow.

Price was reasonable, under $100 with shipping.

Hopefully they will be the right size, but I think we got the measurements correct.

Twenty-one hours after speaking with Lou at TriCity Springs. The springs are a perfect match and reasonably priced.

1972? Holy smokes! We were one of the top Cox Trailer dealers in New England in 1988. I have the photo and plaque on my office wall. They sold the company a year later to a con-artist (unknowingly) who bankrupted the place by late 1990.

Figured I should post at least one photo of the finished product.
