How long does it take a barrel of oil bought at todays price to get processed and delivered to the gas station?

I dont know and I dont care. Even a whisper of a hurricane in the Atlantic and we get a jump in gas prices.

Shit only seems to work quickly in one direction.

I've noticed that too. Barrel prices USED to track pretty quickly with pump prices but that seems to be broken now.

We have one of the most expensive gallons of gas in the whole region; like $3.25-$3.35 a gallon due to high gas taxes. And EVERY time it seems to drop 5 cents, it will shoot back up 10 cents days later.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion we may never see gas under $3 a gallon in this state again.

Seems there area multinational reasons why costs of fuel in the USA isn't dropping more, especially diesel.

https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=66764

The Ukraine Russia war is destroying refining capacity in Russia, in doing so it reduces total capacity of refined oil into Diesel fuel worldwide. When there is less total world availability the prices go up, and I'd imagine oil companies are diverting fuel to locations overseas to make up in countries where the refined product overseas isn't keeping up thus, prices up.

Imagine it's the same for gas.

If you'd like to check your states gas tax rate

It is a speculator's market.

Doesn't go by what it cost to fill the tanks, but what it cost to refill the tanks.

As I’m sure we all have seen that when the price of a barrel of oil goes up you see it at the pump the next day but when the barrel price goes down it takes several weeks…

Funny how that works.

It's all over the board around here.

Just off the interstate 3.19
5 blocks off the interstate 2.85
30 miles to the East 2.45.

The gas stations off the interstate were bouncing between 2.85 and 3.19 multiple times a day heading up to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

$2.89 in Milford, Ohio.

We had $1.00 off at Kroger, so it only cost me $1.89 per gallon.

$2.79 for regular unleaded in Fort Lauderdale. I think our gas tax is $0.58 a gallon.

They're crooks, when oil drops it takes forever for gas prices to drop also. BUT, news of ANY and I mean any upset in the supply of oil, refinement of oil and the gas prices increase daily, yet its fuel the terminal has already paid for.
