I’m thinking to not vote for any of the current board members but really don’t have an informed opinion on any of the candidates?

Who do you like and why?

I like me.
I plan to write myself in. If others want to, my platform is this;

1. WLP retired, pensioned off, whatever it takes.
2. More support of state and local groups dealing with anti-2A issues.
3. More financial accountability and transparency. No wardrobe budget for the executive staff.
4. Less negotiation with the enemy.
5. Bring back the importance of marksmanship training programs. Damned Yankees still can't shoot. ;-)

I didn’t see his name on the ballot. I was also wondering who on the list was worthy of voting fr and who is just part of the current problems.

Same thoughts, trying to figure out who is and who is not on the list that is worth supporting.

I can personally recommend a vote for Jim Wallace, number 17 on my ballot your number may be different. He leads the Gun Owner's Action League (GOAL.ORG) here in MA. He works tirelessly down at our Statehouse trying to improve and protect our gun and hunting rights. Never heard even one disparaging remark about him.

If you're a member of GOAL you know exactly where I'm coming from.

I'm considering a blanket statement as indicated above regarding a certain long term emperor employee.

There are 75 "directors" elected for 3 year terms (normally 25 per year). There is also a 76th "carry-over" director, but my beef is not with that position.

My beef is that 75 people can't effectively steer an organization and hold executives accountable. IMO, it's intentionally set-up this way so the NRA Executives can do whatever they hell they want to do, and that is the main reason things are so corrupt.

If NRA members banded together and ONLY voted for the SAME 3 people every year at the end of 3 years there would be a small, efficient board of directors to reign in the NRA executives. If I were to nominate 3 write-in candidates for 2020, it would be:
1. Alan Gottlieb - President & Director of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership
2. Erich Pratt - Executive Director of Gun Owners of America
3. Dudley Brown - President of National Association for Gun Rights

This from a fellow bullseye shooter and present board member (Ted Carter)

"There are only a handful of NRA Board members who have and continue to actively work to promote and support competitive shooting in the NRA.

Please consider Howard "Walt" Walter and Patricia Clark, along with myself, and new candidate Todd Ellis when casting your vote."

So reading "Save The Second", they say 94 percent of the members do not vote.

https://www.savethe2a.org/

So that is an advantage if you only vote for the good guys. So what we need to do is come up with a list of recommended Directors.

Here are the ones I have found due to recommendations from other forums, etc:
Jim Wallace
Mark Robinson
Steye Schreiner
Jeff Hague
2340

Can anyone add to this list?

One name jumped out at me: Dave Butz.

Butz was an defensive lineman for the Washington Redskins when they were a professional football team that won three Super Bowls. At 6'8" and 295 lbs., Butz is an imposing figure. Despite his size, his demeanor is more low-key than one would imagine. Except on game day!

His hobby was carving duck decoys. He once bought his teammates shotguns, so his love of firearms has been part of his life since he was young. I'd vote for him as an NRA Director!

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I’d recommend Charles Cotton. I know him and he was instrumental in getting concealed carry laws in Texas. He’s a retired attorney and avid pro 2A guy, I trust him more than anyone else on that list.
