benny610 weeks and I'm half way to my goal!
I want to lose 80 pounds. I'm down 40 after 10 or 11 weeks. 40 more to go! I started at 280 and am now at 240.
Keto works!

fischtown7Keto worked for me too, kept the weight off also. My problem is I love bread and pasta too much. Need to get back on it soon. Keep up the good work.
Bout how many calories are you eating a day?

Yes it does, congrats! If you need any more encouragement read the book "Wheat Belly". Wheat DNA was reenginered in the 1960 with no testing done for safety of the consumer, it is "no longer your greandfather's wheat".

I take one cheat day per month where I eat anything I want. I think that helps to stay on it long term and one day does not affect me too much.

benny6Thanks! I'm eating around 2,000 calories a day. Although I did hit a plateau in the mid-240's for about 3 weeks and went OMAD (One Meal A Day) for a few days and in one instance only had about 500 calories of fat (pork rinds, nuts, tablespoon of peanut butter) at the 24 hour mark and didn't eat an actual meal until about hour 45. I finally broke through the barrier and hit 240 yesterday evening. I'm only 5 pounds away from my 2006 wedding weight and 40 pounds from my USMC discharge weight.
Last night's dinner was two 1/3 pound bunless burgers with bacon, lettuce, avocado, red onion, swiss cheese, tomato, Chosen mayo and Primal Kitchen no-sugar catchup. That was my single meal for yesterday.
My stomach has definitely shrank and it doesn't take a lot of food to get me full. Tonight was a medium sized bowl of spaghetti squash with Primal Kitchen basil pasta sauce, 85% lean ground beef from Costco and some mild italian sausage.
Drinking Gatorade Zero once a day or a homemade electrolyte drink with baking soda, epsom salt, No-Salt Potassium and Himalayan Pink Salt.
On the go, I'll eat lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse and get their lunch meal cheeseburger with no bun, bacon and broccoli instead of fries.

old rugged crossThat is awesome Benny. I would love it if you post more of what you eat, when and how often. Those meals you have posted sound tasty to say the least.

drendeanVery, very impressive, Benny. Keto works - as does meal time restriction. I wish I had more willpower. Love carbs and sweets way too much. Need to jump back on the carb/sweets reduction to get to my target. So close and no excuse.
You are an inspiration!

I drink 2 mugs of caffeine free coffee every day with a sprinkle of 100% cacao powder, a sprinkle of stevia in the raw, a dollop of grass fed butter (kerrygold is good), a sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt, 1 0r 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and a teaspoon (a quick squirt) of MCT oil (not pictured)
For lunch, I may have a salad or some leftovers from the night before. Here are some dinners I make.
Chicken fajitas. Eat a reasonable portion. I do this with flank steak as well.
Marinated and baked chicken thighs with bacon wrapped asparagus. I ate one thigh and two bundles of asparagus.
Flap steak from Costco, seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning and cooked on the RecTec pellet grill at 450˚
Primal Kitchen Spaghetti sauce with Costco 85% lean ground beef and Johnsonville mild italian sausage over baked spaghetti squash.
Cast iron pork chops with seasonings and onions, cooked in olive oil or Avocado oil.
Pan seared salmon with creamy sauce made of fish stock and heavy whipping cream.
I'll post pics of dinner tonight. Marinated and grilled chicken wings.

fischtown7Benny, do you have an air fryer? It really changed the game for me, instead of making bigger portions I just prep everything in tupperware and then throw the portion I need in air fryer, quick and easy clean up. Also has the benefit of any fat or grease drops below basket. It and my microwave have replaced all my other kitchen appliances. Amazes me how well everything cooks in it, chicken thighs, pork roasts, burgers etc...

benny6I have an air fryer and I sometimes use it, but I also cook for myself, my son and my wife, who needs two packaged lunches for the next day. My son lost about 15 pounds just cutting out bread, nutella, cheez-its and cookies.
My wife and I had a heated discussion a few months ago about having a family size box of cookies in the house every day. I think after the last 3 months, she gets the picture.
My son cooks two eggs a day on the cast-iron in butter with melted cheese. That replaced his bread and nutella. He has better mental focus and more energy. I sometimes have the same with two Hebrew National hot dogs, sliced and grilled before adding the eggs and cheese.
Also, I forgot to mention. No snacking between meals and if you eat two meals a day, NEVER GO BACK FOR SECONDS!
Here's my 1/3 pound bunless bacon cheeseburger I had a couple of days ago. Since it was my only meal of the day, I had two of these.
