A bigger than life friend and former associate of mine died today. Frank Shankwitz was a cowboy at heart and AZ native. He was one of the original motor officers/trainers with our agency. Frank was diagnosed with esophageal cancer recently. He was the co-founder of the MAKE-A-WISH foundation.

A movie was recently made of the creation of the organization that made so many children's wishes come true. What a legacy to leave behind. RIP #1091.

Rest in Peace Mr Shankwitz. I myself received a Make-A-Wish in 1989. I got to go see the U.S.S. Ranger in San Diego. Still have fond memories of that trip.

I saw the movie. Sounds like he was a great guy with a big heart.

So sorry for your loss.

What an incredible legacy to leave; if only we could all do something that life-changing for so many children.

Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing that link. I have tremendous respect for what he created. My youngest daughter was granted her make a wish and it was an amazing experience for us all.
