Looks great, nice choice.

I find myself longing for an Omega Speedmaster moon watch. The new iteration with its band is quite nice.

Congrats again on the Seamaster, love the lume photo.

Thanks guys. It is a true joy to own. Wearable art was mentioned and I have to agree.

Examining the fit and finish on this Seamaster reminded me of the first time I got to test shoot a Nighthawk 1911. The tight tolerances, excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship is immediately noticeable.

A bonus I was not expecting is how the chronograph’s minute hand actually sweeps very very slowly. The movement it is based off typically has a sudden jump of the chrono minute hand to the next minute as the seconds hand reaches 12 o’clock. The hand alignment for such a meticulous sweeping function to work demands perfect accuracy which Omega achieved.

The 10 o’clock date change pusher being hidden inside of the helium release valve is also an interesting quirk with this model. That valve is controversial but in this watch it helps hide the date pusher in a very clever way.

Congrats on your new addition to the collection! I like and agree with your analogy, comparing a fine automatic watch with Nighthawk Custom's fine (JMB designed) pistols!

It’s not a limited edition, just the previous version of Omega’s Professional Seamaster Chronograph with the smaller 41.5mm case. The new version with two sub dials replaced it. The 3 sub dial Chronograph Seamaster like mine can be found fairly easily online in good, excellent & new/unworn condition for anywhere between $3k-4k. The new Seamaster lists for $7,800 on Omega’s website but in reality it’s not too hard to find online for around $6k. The new Seamaster variants are all 44mm unlike my previous Gen which was offered in both 41.5 & 44mm cases.

I looked at it like when a car I love such as the Mustang or Corvette switches to the next Gen. Sure the new one has serious improvements over the previous Gen but there are almost always areas where the new version falls short or could improve.

Wearable art is right. I don’t wear a watch and I was reading your post and thinking, “Darn, that is cool!”

Man that's a good looking watch. I like the looks of your's much more that the new version. I like the smooth face and red hands. The wave face hasn't grown on me.

Enjoy it,
