It seems like most major gas lawnmower makers have electric models now too but I realized today that Honda does NOT. Why do you think that’s the case?

I don't know, but if Honda would offer a riding mower again I'd break open the piggy bank.

God bless America.

I have a Honda mower and love it, 10 years old and running great. Solid engine, simple maintenance annually and you are good to go. Riding more would be on my list too.

Probably because they make such darn great gas motors.

My Honda commercial walk-behind 22 inch mower will not start reliably. The pull rope continues to fray as it passes through and cuts the plastic notch in its housing. Storing gas in quantity results in bad gas that is laden with water. I'm hoping that a returned 40v Ryobi electric from HD will show up in good condition. There was one locally for $130 but the returning buyer failed to show HD that a rock busted through the deck, and they were successful in getting a refund leaving HD to dump it. Maybe today I can find one.

Do you have the auto choke start model?
There is a known issue with many of the auto choke models. Honda will fix it for free.

Check Facebook marketplace tons of the Ryobis near me. I am going to squeeze this last year out of my 12 year old Honda and give the Ryobi a go.

I'm talking about a proper battery powered mower like this beast:
