Uh-oh, saving the planet is killing us Of course that might make climate freaks happy. Guess we’ll need to go back to incandescent bulbs. They can fix LED’s but imagine the cost. “Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present Generation to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it.” ― John Adams "Fire can be our friend; whether it's toasting marshmallows, or raining down on Charlie." - Principal Skinner.

It's been well known for a while. Not only is the wavelength of light better with incandescent, the most LEDs flicker which is also bad for us.

I'm not a light expert, but if as the article states the issue is the short/cool/blue wavelength of most LED lighting, would it be as simple as utilizing more LEDs that are on the long/warm/red end of the spectrum? When buying bulbs you typically have a choice between short/cool/blue, medium/natural/yellow, or long/warm/red wavelengths. And with some LED light fixtures, especially those for home lighting, you have the option to toggle between cool-warm or cool-natural-warm wavelengths using a small switch. I even have handheld LED flashlights that you can toggle between cool/warm.

WAGD!!!!!!! Or, just spend time outdoors in the sunlight, does wonders for your body, Vitamin D, all kinds of wavelength spectrum ok light, or wait, melanoma comes from sunlight exposure, hurry get back indoors, no LED's are killing you, go back outside, and stop to get a COVID/Hantavirus inoculation on the way....

Beyond the cool/warm aspect, you can buy LED lights with a very high Color Rendition Index. The higher the CRI, the more true to the actual color the item illuminated is. To achieve a correct color, you need a warmer light. Everyone thinks that the more blue/white a light is, the more high tech and cutting edge it must be but useful? Not so sure that it's the best for all things, but it's what the public expects. The Pelican that I have is extremely close to true color, and the LED output looks like an old incandescent with dying batteries. 175 hours of runtime says that's a good thing.
