I justbought my wife a 2014 Chrysler 200 convertible. The whole car is pristine. It had 13,000 miles on it and appears to have been garage kept. I want to keep it that way to the extent possible. But this car will stay outside and Virginia sun can get pretty severe. I bought a full car cover for it for days it just sits in our driveway. But I was looking for a smaller roof cover my wife and put on it while it sits at her job all day while she works. Roof covers are few and far between. I can't find any made for this car, and can't find any general roof covers that look like they will hold up to much exposure to weather.

Any ideas? Has anyone ever made one? What sort of material? How ot hold it down without putting abrasive pressue on paint?

Thanks.

I know someone who can, but she lives in Key West and would make it from Sunbrella materiel treated with UV inhibitor.

I'm sure a trim shop could make one for you with embedded magnets to hold it in place.

If I had the car here I could make it
My I'd have to measure it then make a template
I think I'd have to order a length of Sunbrella

I’ve had a convertible. Actually, 3 if you count the jeeps. I don’t consider them daily drivers because the tops leak when it rains and the sun destroys them in short order. They really should be kept under shelter if you want them to stay nice.

Can you at least put up a carport at home? A prefab carport can be delivered and assembled/installed for around $1500. You’ll spend more than that on a replacement convertible top.

Push come to shove, you could always buy another full cover and trim id down to just the size you want, hem, and add bungies or whatever to hold in place.
As a former convertible owner in VA, I sympathize.

Thanks for all the responses.

Keepng it out of the sun at my house is not a problem. We have both shade and a good car cover. It's when it sits at my wife's job. She's not going to want to throw a full car cover over it then. So I wanted something hat just covers the roof.

I think I will look into a cheap car cover and cut the section out that covers the roof and make it so it secures to the sideview windows.

I’m on my 4th convertible and never had a leak once. 2 have been hard tips but my BMW soft tops have been perfect. One was 10 years old and I had no issues.

Glue magnets to it.
