Amazon Prime guarantees delivery in 8 days?

Everything that I looked up today on Amazon Prime said guaranteed delivery by Monday, September 24. When did this start? Anybody else here experience this?

I note your location is Maryland, my guess is they are factoring in possible delays due to the hurricane.

My delivery promise in Seattle area is still same, next, or two days depending on the item

Not happening for me. I saw this and it reminded me of something I needed to order. I just ordered it and it is free shipping and will be here in two days, 9/18.

I agree that it's probably the hurricane. I just signed on and looked some stuff up. It was all guaranteed delivery by 9/24. (I'm in Richmond VA).

I saw the same thing last week when I needed a printer cartridge. Was going to pick it up locally but been busy and I could live with waiting a week. Even though shipping said over a week it arrived in the normal two days.

I am hoping it was due to the weather they where quoting long shipping times.

I ordered a rifle out of Pennsylvania, was supposed to be delivered Monday by UPS. It shipped the 13th. The status has no date of delivery now and a warning about storm delays. On the other hand I ordered a pistol out of Monroe NC the same day and it arrived Saturday via Fedex.
