I think it was a "special needs" son and they don't want to stigmatize him...just a guess.

True thing. Somebody who can sleep through all that commotion, including at least five gunshots, without getting up to see what it's all about, is a person who is extremely mentally incapacitated.

My heart goes out to them both.

The lady needs a local landmark to be named in her honour and a Good Citizen Award presented to her by the highest level of authority.

meanwhile the body of her attacker needs to be dumped in the forest where hungry coyotes followed by racoons and eventually maggots can feast on it.

This seems to be an instance where the revolver is superior to the automatic. Was she handcuffed with her hands behind her? If so, I'd say that an automatic would be liable to malfunction, whereas the revolver might not.

Officials told EastIdahoNews.com the two were known to each other and it was not believed to be a random incident.

Pretty tough lady, she never gave up,

I saw the quote they were known to each other and wondered what that meant,
The only thing I could find was a paragraph in one of the many articles, was that she used to own a pawn shop and gun range or maybe they meant gun store. He must have thought she had money and guns at the house.

Shot placement, bullet selection and mind set won over multiple rounds in the 9 mm.
