Had to put my soon to be 80 year old mother in the hospital Monday night. Severe abdominal pain. Turns out she has a kidney stone, on top of her crippling rheumatoid arthritis and other issues.
Bad infection in her kidney and some sort of weird infection in her arm that the doctors can’t figure out.
So she is miserable. To say the least.

Saturday, While I’m staying with her in the hospital (my sister and I are swapping out) I get a call from a fella who offered to load out a fence jumping bull for me.
Bull breaks his leg in the trailer. There goes any money he might have brought as a slaughter bull.

On the way home from the hospital late Sunday night, my youngest calls me and says there is water in her room. Yep, water heater decided to go Tango Uniform.

I get home from work today and my condenser unit for my AC won’t come on. So it’s 87 degrees in the house and climbing.

I’ve made mention before that the lord won’t put more on you than you can handle.
Well, I’m flattered, really, but could we back off just a notch or two?

UPDATE 1: burnt wire on the outside unit. So I have AC again.
UPDATE 2: water heater being installed as I type this.
UPDATE3 : oh, yeah, hospital is doing discharge papers for my mother right now also. Big Grin
But those wheels turn very slowly. Hopefully she is home tonight.

Water heaters are cheap to replace.

A/C can be repaired.

Prayers for you mother. Prayers for the Doctors as well. You too!

Well you've outdone yourself. Most people go for bad luck in threes, you are 33% more effective than the average man at dealing with bad luck.

All joking aside, that's a bad run hudr, hope karma catches up with you and you get some good luck!

Time to clean out some space to get to the water heater.

Just letting y’all know.
Update 2: mom has been moved to another room as they no longer feel the need to have her on a heart monitor.
She saw an infection specialist today and they are confident t we will be seeing improvement over the next 24 hours.

Still no hot water at my house (deciding between just replacing my LP gas heater, or going tankless), but, I’ll take cold showers for a long time if it’ll help get her home sooner.

Heck no problem. Just get the new modular home set up tomorrow morning. Problem solved. Big Grin

All kidding aside, I wish your mom well and that you solve your issues easily and quickly.

That’s exactly what I’m debating...pour money into the existing, or start over.

And thanks for the well wishes. I firmly believe that prayer, karma, positive thoughts or whatever, really work.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It's hard when the hits just keep coming like that.
Just keep solving problems til you come out on the other side and then the good Lord owes you a break.

I’ve heard that sentiment countless times but I dug into it during a challenging season and it turns out that it is nowhere in scripture. That He won’t put on you more than He can handle is, however, quite clear. I found that distinction helpful and I hope you do, too.

I was let go last year. (I may tell this story more fully in another post, It is difficult). and I made a similar comment that you did. A friend challenged me on the saying, stating it was not biblical. As I dug into it, I realized my friend was right and in my studies it helped a lot.

So I pass this along, humbly, only because I think it can help.

My good luck steak of choice is a T-Bone, but I’ll settle for a Ribeye. Smile

Smile Thanks for the update. I don't always respond to threads but send thoughts and prayers. I'm sure there are many that do the same.
