My two sons are having an experience of a lifetime

lizardman_uMy two sons are having an experience of a lifetime
My oldest son who is 19 asked permission a while back to take my nine year old son to Lego Land and Sea World.
I told my oldest son he needed to confirm with airlines, hotels, etc... that his age wouldn't prohibit this as he is under 21. He did the research, and so my wife and I typed up a letter granting him guardianship for this trip to make sure there weren't any issues.
They made it safely to their hotel in Carlsbad, safely to Lego Land (they went there two days in a row), safely to Sea World, and will be traveling back home tonight (their flight lands in Pasco, WA around 10:00 PM.
They have been having a ball, the smiles in the photos they have shared with us are priceless.
I am sure neither one of my boys will forget the memories made on this trip.
I am very thankful for them being able to have this experience.

PHPaulI agree. The memories will last a lifetime, as will the bond created by the trip.
Congrats to the 19 year old for stepping up and doing this for his little brother!

It has been excellent. My wife has been able to pay for their transportation down there when they need to take an Uber. When the boys have called you can here the excitement in their voices.
I am very proud of both boys.

Fantastic trip!!!
Had I known they were heading my direction, I would have suggested they set aside 4 hours upon arrival or before their departure from the SD airport to tour the USS Midway and all of the aircraft they have on display. There is also a Soviet submarine open for tours a few piers over.
I hope they start taking a yearly adventure with each other, even if not back to San Diego ~ creating memories like this are golden!

I suggested they drive by the US Navy NTC/RTC (Naval training center/recruit training center) I know the RTC side is closed as that was where I went to boot camp in 1988, but the buildings are still there.

sigspecopsThat's awesome. It's a caged fight to the death anytime my two sons are in a room together.

FredwardMy 18 year old daughter took her 10 year old sister somewhere out of state every summer for about 11 years, I financed. Hawaii, Vegas, and several other semi-exotic places. They bonded for life and had experiences they could not have had with their parents. I will never regret that.

lizardman_uWell they left Thursday morning and flew to San Diego, and they hit the airport last night and then stayed with family friends and drove the hour home from the family friends' house this afternoon.
Both boys are intact (no arms, legs, eyes are missing). Both are happy to be home.

Russ59Outstanding!
My 19 yo daughter arranged to take our 15 yo son to Six Flags in Santa Clara for his birthday. She made she sure her worked scheduled worked out and asked me to drive them to LA while I worked. The surprise on his face!
