Ronin1069Well drat....I think I fractured, or at least chipped my tibia....
I think I fractured, or at least chipped my tibia last week. Was helping a neighbor do some work and slipped on his wet step...I went crashing to the ground and went "shin first" into the edge of the top step. Hurt like fuck and took a pretty good gouge out of my skin. I can walk fine, but the area still hurts like shit and now my ankle is bruised to fuck and my calf is somewhat swollen.

arfmelThat doesn't look good

ZSMICHAELI would get an Xray. It is possible to walk on a broken bone. You have some bruising and swelling that merits further evaluation.

comet24That looks like it merits a trip to a Doc. Around here I would find one of the walk in type doctor places that has an onsite x-ray.

Ronin1069Yeah, the bruising just started yesterday (5 days later). I'm done gutting it out, going to go to Urgent Care in the morning.
Other than the pain around the wound itself, I can function fine. Wife is concerned about infection though, so figure I had better not take any chances.

HA Gator is right, that's a bad call.
Scotch, not bourbon, is the way to go.

gearhoundsOuch. Tib-fib injuries are painful and more complicated the closer you get to the ankle.

Phantom229Damn dude! Good pain pills used as prescribed are a very wonderful thing! I'd say walk it off but apparently that isn't helping. Did you rub some dirt on it?
