Such as reliability, ease of maintaining, drive ability, good or bad features, etc? Been thinking it’s about time for a new vehicle as my 20-year old pickup isn’t in the best shape plus don’t really need a truck any more.

I don't really know anything other than they get great reviews and are near impossible to get. A little less than a year ago it was my wife's first choice, we were told 1 - 1 1/2 years to order. A friend just was in the market, told the same thing, she bought a Hyundai Palisade, dealer had it in stock. Almost same vehicle but one is totally sold out. Good luck!! ________________________________ "Nature scares me" a quote by my friend Bob after a rough day at sea.

My sister bought one. She had to wait almost a year to get it. She's had it for two years +/- and absolutely loves it. I wasn't a KIA fan, so I was skeptical when she ordered it. But I'm very impressed with the form and function, fit and finish. I suspect KIA is the new up and comer like Honda was in the 80's and forward. Early imported Hondas were, well, they got great gas mileage and were reliable. But that's it. Now they are a premium brand. KIA seems to be on the same path. My sister and BiL have had the Hyundai version for a couple years and love it. It rides like a dream and seems very well put together. Personally, I can’t stand all the bullshit bells n whistles but if that’s your thing then you’ll love it.

Be prepared to pay $8K - $10K "market adjustment" over MSRP if you can find one. As already mentioned the Hyundai Palisade is essentially the same vehicle. Both Hyundai and Kia have 5 year / 60,000 mi bumper to bumper warranties and, for the original owner only, 10 year / 100K mi powertrain warranties. If you can go a little smaller there is the Kia Sorento. Its matching counterpart is the Hyundai Santa Fe. These two compare to a Toyota Highlander or Ford Edge in size.

You can't find a bad review of one. Unfortunately as Broadside said - you will pay a pretty penny for one if you find it. There are people LINED UP to pay well over sticker price for them. -------------------- I like Sigs and HK's, and maybe Glocks

I just bought my wife a new Pallisade, which is the essentially the same vehicle as a Telluride. It's a great SUV with the best warranty in the business. My wife has had 3 Hyundai's and we never had any issues. Its true that some dealers are charging several thousand over msrp but not all of them. I paid msrp but no market adjustments or dealer add ons. Normally, I would never pay full sticker price but they gave us what we paid for our trade. We were lucky to find one with mid level trim. Usually, if there are any on a lot, they're the most expensive trim levels. Tellurides are definitely harder to find. I never saw more than one on any dealers lot. Kia's, Hyundais and old jeeps are getting stolen left right and center in our area due to a manufacturing defect. Car jackers can steal the vehicles easily due to not having an immobilizer installed. Thank you Very little |
Daughters had Kias, One Telluride, one Sorento, both drove for 3 years each, zero problems, both just traded them in on new ones and had $10 and $8K equity since they were both in excellent condition and of course the market. Tellurides are a hot item, if you can get a deal and find one, they are excellent vehicles. KIA and Hyundai consistently rank at the top of the field as manufacturing companies. That being said, buy a Tahoe/Yukon or Expedition and support the USA companies... If you want one, use the KIA locator, FYI the price shown is MSRP, this is not the dealer price, expect to add $10K, but you'll know which dealer possibly has one in stock. https://www.kia.com

They're great vehicles but good luck getting one. The wait is a year plus in many cases. I had a Telluride on order for my wife and finally got tired of waiting and got the Sorento instead. ____________________________ NRA Benefactor Life Member GOA Life Member Arizona Citizens Defense League Life Member

That rug really tied the room together. |
Friends wife just bought one for $52,000. Had to pay a "market adjustment" of $7000 over MSRP to get it. These cars are in demand. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

We looked at and test drove a Telluride when they first came out about 3 years ago. I get migraines and the plastic off-gassing in the Telluride was awful. Couldn't get the smell out of my nose for a couple of days. Ended up buying a Toyota Highlander instead.

I've got a 2011 Sorento SX that I bought new which is the first year that they were made in the Georgia plant and it has been flawless. We are in our mid seventies and don't travel as much any more otherwise I'd buy another one with no hesitation. My daughter and SIL have the Hyundai Pallisade. Theirs has functioned without fail, and they are 100% satisfied. I like the interior fine, though the exterior isn't as easy on my eyes as the KIA product is. Based on their experiences, when I buy a car for my soon-to-be college daughter, I will add the smaller Hyundai SUV line to the list we consider. ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. Had an SX Prestige with the towing package for ten months. Paid list and got what we paid in trade on out Explorer ST when it came in. The Telluride didn’t drive any better than our 2012 Honda Odyssey that had 75,000 miles on it. It had a lot of bells and whistles: heads up display, the side mirrors would automatically point towards the rear tires when you put it in reverse, etc. The interior was really nice, cooled seats in the second row even. I had my wife decide which she wanted. She drove them back to back and picked the Explorer ST. In the ten months we had the Telluride, I had zero desire to drive it. My F350 drives better and it weighs 8,000 pounds and is 22 feet long. I’d have to go back to my grandparents’ 1990 Grand Marquis to find a vehicle that my family has owned that was worse to drive than the Telluride and I’m serious about that. I drive the Explorer ST every chance I get. My wife misses the Telluride’s HUD, but nothing else. My wife drove a 2000 S2000, 9,000 rpm redline, when we got married and I’ve always been a speed freak, so we are probably not typical Telluride owners.

My daughter and SIL have one. They love it and just bought it when lease expired. I have driven and ridden in it, very nice I must say. Thanks for all the responses. Went to my local dealer today, looked it over and took a test drive in one that was a couple years old. Think it was a SX Prestige model. Had lots of technological bells and whistles and a heads-up display that looked like the one I had in my Pontiac Bonneville some 30 years ago. Rode ok but steering is nowhere near as precise as the wife’s 2004 Infiniti FX35. Didn’t expect a sports car; seems to be aiming at the “land cruiser” style. As everyone said, the dealer’s tacked on a premium over-msrp charge but, surprisingly to me, said they can get a custom order for one in about 6 months. Figured it would be longer than that. Have a few other vehicles to research before deciding what I’m going to spend my money on.
