Keeping the economy moving since 1964

One year ago today I entered the hospital for a two week covid pneumonia vacation. I was allowed no visitors and could not eat solid food as I was on high-flow oxygen. Couldn't even use a toilet for a week which was no fun for anyone involved....

About the only thing I could do is read, and read I did. I was on here, reading new and old posts alike. This forum played a huge part helping me keep my sanity. Thank you all, I don't think you'll ever know how much you helped me.

Do---or do not.
There is no try.

Isn't it remarkable that SigForum has served as a virtual lifeline to so many people with no other purpose than providing fellowship to someone in need?

Thank you, my friend. I am extremely fortunate (and thankful). No lasting lung damage, full recovery, as of today much lighter (was 312 the day of admission, am 270 as of this morning). I have made many diet changes, mostly consisting of cutting out the junk.

I'm glad you made it through, healthwise and sanity wise.

Sigforum helped me as well when I was under a lot of stress. Reading threads here took my mind off my troubles even if for just the minutes reading the threads.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

You were lucky you could get SigForum in the hospital..My brother in law was in the ER last week and I could not get SigForum, but did get Maryland Shooters. Weird

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

So pleased you are well again, and weighing less. It was nice that you could get to SF during your hospital stay. My recent hospitalization and rehab (3 months) did not have access to SF, which I greatly missed. I really appreciate the variety of news found here and the excellent advice.
