I'll add another vote for a Kershaw Leek. I've had mine for ~12 years or so and I can't think of one gripe that I have about it. I've shipped it back to Kershaw a few times for sharpening and to put a new spring in it and the service has always been solid. It's functioned well enough for what I ask of it I've never been able to rationalize buying anything more expensive even if I have been tempted to buy something new with money that is burning a hole in my pocket.

Kershaw Guy currently has six or seven different flavors of Leeks on his Factory Seconds / Blems page.
Other models listed there as well.

This is excellent advice and you'll enjoy perusing the gamut of choices you have. Look for the main knife makers and peruse their websites.
ZT knives, benchmade, ckrt, etc. I'm sure you'll find at least one or two that you'll like,

Does anyone have experience with Hogue knives?
Yes I do, excellent knives.
I use to be a Benchmade guy until the their political BS came to light, then I sold them all and swore I'd never own another.
I lean more towards Spyderco, CRKT, ZT, Civivi and a few others these days. If you can live without the glass breaker, I'd strongly recommend a Spyderco ParaMilitary 2 (PM2). Gentlemen, thanks for the suggestions. I saw several that I like, and may own down the road.
I like the slightly longer blade and it doesn't break the bank.

I have an older version M-16 that is really solid. Mine is partially serrated and the steel's not as good as the one you've picked. I think you'll be pleased.

After reading Para's stong endorsement I ordered the American Law Man. I also ended up ordering the Code 4 and a Tuff Lite serrated for my Son.
Really had no use for any of them. This place can sure siphon money out of a bank account.

I thought about that, too. It just looked to damn big.

Yup, I've still yet to figure out a practical way to carry my Kobun. May relegate it to truck duty, it's just a bit too big & difficult to access, for boot carry.

I've got a bag full of knives, that I have accumulated over the years that has more knives than my holster box has holsters. It's a disease I tell ya...but I just haven't lost a knife in years.

Pleased? Understatement! This thing is huge. Time for some dry fire practice.

Believe it or not, after years of laughing at Cold Steel products, I'm recommending a Cold Steel folder- the American Lawman.
Amazon has the American Lawman at a black Friday price of $83.47.
Then I switched to the Smith and Wesson M&P assisted opening 10 years ago. The handle finish is worn off the edges but for 10 years in my pocket almost daily I can live with it.
