So let me get this straight.
A species went extinct 10000 years ago. /sarcon Must have been those cavemen causing global warming /sarcoff
There must be a reason. They were unable to adapt to a changing ecosystem, prey disappeared whatever, and bringing them back is a good idea?

10,000 years ago is about the end of the last ice age. The sabertooth tiger went extinct around the same time as the ecosystem changed and available large animals to prey on disappeared.
