The gear is only as good as the Soldiers using it. Traditionally, Arabs don’t make good Soldiers. So having an idiot on “the latest and greatest” piece of gear, you’re not really getting the maximum effect of the gear.

There were a lot of battles on the eastern front in WWII where the Germans as an attacking force were inflicting 3 times more casualties on the Russians than they were receiving. Normally it is the other way around the offensive forces usually suffer more. Where the Russians excel is they are willing to take those losses. I got out of the Army in 1989 right before the wall came down, we do not have that Army anymore. I think we had 13 heavy divisions in Europe alone back then.
