Picture #89. What the heck is that thing attached to the caliper? Are they magnets?

Guessing an emergency brake or something like a drift brake?

Ah, I didn't consider an e-brake. That's very likely.

Upon some research, that is certainly it. I am used to the E-brake on the inside of backside of the rotor. Never seen one like that. Shows what I know about proper high performance stuff.

I was wondering that myself, but I have never put brakes on a Shelby Cobra. Nice ride!

Yeah, it's a parking brake. An emergency brake would push the whole set of pads and have real authority.

Parking brake. Those small pucks wouldn’t last long for any kind of real braking.

I'll guess these are racing brakes that don't normally come with a parking brake, the parking brake is kind of an add on, or custom made for these brakes.

Not many corners cut on this over the top Cobra build. Wow!

I know it. Wish I was a bidder. This is one of the most bananas ones I've seen.

I hope to build one someday, or at least buy one someone else built. You can get into one pre-owned for under $40k. You're looking at between $50k and $60k if you buy and build new.

I sent a link to a friend with two Mustangs who is a Ford nut. He has a 1999 SVR convertible and a 2023 I think Shelby that he had the dealer supercharge. Its like 650 HP at the rear wheels. I suspect he can afford the 496 Cobra.
