How is it? We already have the plan that would cover it. Seems like the sensors needing batteries could be a turnoff.

Looking for member experiences from using it. Costco has the 10 piece for $129 so it is interesting.

I was already a SimpliSafe customer (but had Ring doorbells) when Ring alarm went live. Investigated Ring alarm and decided to stick with SimpliSafe, which has been flawless for me.

I'm also not a fan of having all my eggs in one basket. Now I have Arlo Ultra cameras as well.

Very little is discussed concerning the alarm system. Everyone wants to divert to the doorbells and cameras. I know about those.

I have the Ring alarm. 5 motion sensors and like 20 contact sensors with extenders and the like.

They work great. The batteries on the sensors last forever, like 3+ years. The batteries can be replaced without taking the sensors down (user serviceable access covers).

The Gen 1 sensors used CR123 batteries, which are cheap and plentiful.

I live in the nice part of a suburb. Crime is up due to Covid. Some fuckers are hitting houses and checking car doors and some cases breaking in cars. Cameras are a deterrent. I started off just getting 6-7, now have 12 and planning on 2 more in the next few weeks. Then that led to a dedicated TV/monitor for the DVR which is extremely hidden somewhere..
I can tell you this, worth every got damn cent!

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Good point! The local media also seems to enjoy posting screenshots on their website and it typically results in an arrest. The porch pirates are a lot more active in the nicer parts of town.
