Glad to see this. Pritzger sure has his panties in a wad over the visit. ELMHURST, Ill. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is said to be heading to a Chicago suburb next week to speak to police officers. The Chicago Fraternal of Police Lodge has been promoting an event on Monday at an undisclosed location in Elmhurst. The event is only open to law enforcement officers. The local police union president tells WGN-TV he’s not organizing the event but was asked to share the invitation by DeSantis’ representatives. The visit adds fuel to the ongoing feud between DeSantis and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. Pritzker said DeSantis is dangerous and his agenda has no place in Illinois. “Well he doesn’t represent the values of the people in Illinois,” Pritzker said. “In fact, he is the antithesis of that. He’s demonstrated that he’s homophobic, that he has tendencies to promote racism.” Pritzker also called on elected officials and candidates to condemn DeSantis’ policies. DeSantis edges closer to 2024 decision “Paul Vallas must condemn the FOP for inviting Ron DeSantis, a dangerous and xenophobic authoritarian to our state,” a statement on Thursday from Chicago Mayoral candidate Chuy Garcia read. “In Florida, Ron DeSantis has banned books, pushed a homophobic and anti-trans agenda, and questioned the integrity of our elections.” On Friday mayoral candidate Paul Vallas, who is endorsed by the Chicago FOP, said he is disappointed in FOP leadership and there is no place in Chicago for a “right-wing extremist” like DeSantis. “DeSantis’ record of trying to erase the LGBTQ community, banning books on Black history and much more is not in line with my values, the values of our community, or the values of the rank and file police officers who I believe have no interest in getting swept up in culture wars and national Republican Party politics,” the statement from Vallas read. “I want to build trust between all of Chicago’s communities and the police by holding everyone accountable, because that is the only way we can make our city safer. This decision by the FOP leadership makes that job harder.” DeSatis’ office did not respond to an inquiry. https://wgntv.com/western-subu...s-in-chicago-suburb/ LINK:

Anything that gets the leftists panties in a wad has to be good. Perhaps one of the fine CPD officers we have on SF will provide an after-action report?

DeSantis backs his cops and gives them the freedom to do their job…….unlike Chicago….Ill bet he’s going to pretty darn popular with the officers that speak with him ________________________ Those who trade liberty for security have neither

They don't have much to work with, do they? And the stuff they're saying to discredit him sounds more like an endorsement to my ears. I don't have much use for politicians as a general rule, but this is one event I wouldn't mind attending...would even making crossing the border into Chi-Raq worthwhile, which is something I usually avoid like the plague. I'm excited about Desantis's potential. He's the rare sort of politician who's policies are agreeable, he's articulate, and at the same time appears to live a personal life that is consistent with my ethics and morals. The fact that the liberals hate him is just icing on the cake.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

So is he going to Illinois to recruit law enforcement officers to come work in Florida? I thought at one time Florida had a program giving bonuses to out of state law enforcement officers who move to Florida to work here. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. ^^^^^^^ FOX news yesterday was at Daytona. They had the sheriff on with 3 officers who came to FL due to those programs. One was an Army guy that had just gotten out and come from Savannah. The others were from New Jersey and New York IIRC.

Objectively Reasonable |
Texas and Florida municipalities/counties regularly advertise in the Philadelphia area. IIRC, a large-ish department actually did a interviewing/testing "road show" that came through here a few years ago.

A nearby department recently had a hiring process and out of the 22 applicants, 8 were from New York and 5 from Chicago.

Legalize the Constitution |
The late Rush Limbaugh always said, “The Left always shows you who they fear the most,” and it’s clear to me that Ron DeSantis is the candidate in that position now. _______________________________________________________ despite them

DeSantis is smart to stand up to the wacko cultural issues that the woke democrats are trying to shove down our throats. He may be the candidate who can win the popular vote in the next presidential election. U.S. Army 11F4P Vietnam 69-70 NRA Life Member

They're after my Lucky Charms! |
Agreed. DeSantis is looking like the best candidate in 2024. But as a side note and worthy a separate thread, I think Haley/Tulsi ticket would be fun just because the left would be doing mental gymnastics to come up with angles to attack them. And we on the right can accuse them of being xenophobic/mysogonist/racist for attacking them. And to watch their faces for being called out on their own BS. Priceless. Why do people seem to think that Tulsi Gabbard is a Republican or even conservative? Because she goes on Tucker Carlson? She is no friend to our cause.
