So we have laid half of the vinyl plank floor. All going well. No issues. The next jag is going to be laying an area around a wood stove porcelain tile hearth. I have not figured out what I am going to do about a transition. Wondering how much distance I should leave between the floor and tile. I am thinking a 1/2". The subfloor is concrete. I will need to use adhesive I am thinking to secure the transition to the concrete. Thoughts. Thanks guys. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Just me but I'd consider a stone/stone tile border to transition it. Maybe a 3 - 4" border _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

Check out Floor and Decor's website. They have just about any transition you can think of. 1/2" gap is pretty normal. A search under transition, is the only way I found them and you have to weed through a bunch of other stuff.

You should pick the transition first and that will give you the needed spacing. Whoever made the flooring also has color coordinated transitions. This is usually easiest. There may be a recommended sealer. Often times 100% silicone adhesive is used.

Several transitions, use "u" channel to hold the transition in. I cut the channel, and lay on concrete, mark holes. Drill into concrete and use dowels to pound into concrete. Then use wood screws for channel. You will find the wooden dowel plugs near the channel in lowes or home depot. Then use proper profile transition to cover space.

Going to lay the flooring before I have the transition. Hence the question about how much of a gap to leave? Thx "Practice like you want to play in the game"
