'Bout time. 50 years overdue. Unqualified, low IQ minorities being hired while qualified white men get denied just because of racial quotas is an abomination. A travesty of justice.

Bottom line, I am not what I wanted to be because affirmative action hedged up my way at every turn in the late 70s and early 80s. I know this because one of the many gate keepers surreptitiously told me I was of the wrong demographic. So, that’s my white privilege.

Yes, go with the 14th Amendment. Treat all races equally, a concept foreign to democrats who are racist to the core.

Just Discrimination.

I had 20 years in construction, plumbing and electrical…
Went to apply for an open job at the local Electric, Water, Sewer company.

They would not even offer a chance… said they had to hire black, as they were short on their quota.

They hired a black alright… I actually knew him… the only work experience he had was mucking out horse stalls. Roll Eyes

Endeavor to persevere.

Too late now. I was hired because the Defense Communications Agency had looked at the resumes of the people working on the job and said that they weren't qualified. I had to go over and be approved. He went over everything on my resume asking detailed questions. I had worked on a lot of different projects at seven different companies from small to large corporations.

I worked there eleven years in four different departments and it was all the same. Somebody else too credit for my work.

In the first department, I wrote over twenty plus reports and I am finding out under FOIA that they went out with Frank's name on the report. I used EMA's to analyze the data since the data was limited. At first, they pooh poohed my work until they saw I was onto something, and then they tried to take credit.

One person, Fred, took over a project I had worked on for a year. He briefed the work to the VP like he had done it and was promoted. I assume he tried something similar ten years later and the company was sued and the individual got a $400k settlement according to a Security person.

The second department involved putting equipment in EMP proof cabinets. Al had me trouble shoot various projects. One guy got fired since the equipment had the wrong interface. Another project had problems with the WANG computer power supply when they moved it to the EMP cabinet. It used a Crowbar supply and they changed the wire that is used as the current limit so the power supply acted like it had a short when you plugged in the memory boards. Big Grin

Then there was the 250K generator that had the wrong Bendix connectors...plugs instead of sockets. Eek

Another HF equipment had certain frequencies the were not locking up....phase lock loop.

The third department was more of the same. The Group Leader belonged to the NJ Guard and was gone half day Thursday and all day Friday and charged to the job. Most of the things we worked on were my ideas. One project, the customer didn't have the money to build the prototype but the manufacturer liked the idea so much that they built it on their own.

The fourth department was over staffed by three times but was the first time I had a computer on my desk so I wrote programs to analyze communications links.

The job stress caused two of my friends early departure, Chuck had a fatal heart attack at work and Hugh had a fatal stroke after he left. The Department Head was the worst and belittled some people after asking them technical questions.

I has laid off at age 50 and never worked in my profession again. They probably put something in my folder since they were always making threats.

Can anybody top this?? Big Grin

Affirmative action was an accelerant to sustained mediocrity and an erosion of tough standards necessary for excellence and innovation.

This case the SCOTUS ruled on involved an Ohio woman who brought a discrimination suit against the Ohio Department of Youth Services because she is heterosexual.

quote:
Ames argued that she was denied a promotion within the Ohio department of youth services because she is heterosexual. A lesbian was hired for the job instead, and Ames was eventually demoted to a lower position with lower pay, with a gay man taking her previous role.

Nobody should be disadvantaged or advantaged by their skin color, gender, or sexual orientation.

Hiring, promoting, college acceptance, etc. should be based on ability and content of character.

The fact that you think this is something that needs to be said says something is not right with the way things are. And I agree with you.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

"Reverse Discrimination" IS Discrimination

It's so obvious even the Supreme Court agrees...

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Good, very good.

Now start tearing apart all the admissions and hiring policies that have been in-place, start with Chicago and Mayor Johnson's un-ironic admission of whom he's hired and appointed.

So, there were three 9-0 SCOTUS rulings today with opinions written by the three lefty female justices.

https://www.scotusblog.com/

Reverse discrimination case, written by Brown.
Mexico's lawsuit against US gun makers, written by Kagan.
Catholic ministry tax exemption case, written by Sotomayor.

My opinion is that this was no accident/coincidence, but it was Roberts' thinly veiled way of rubbing it in Trump's face, "See, I told you there are no such things as Obama judges or Biden judges", despite leftist district court judges ruling against Trump's administration left and right.

I don’t trust Roberts any farther than I can puke. He’s a backstabbing quisling and needs to be removed from the bench as well as the three other socialists.

Years ago, I applied for a job in the federal government.

I received a thank you, but no thank you back.

It said my resume was rated 85%, and they were not interviewing anyone less than 110%

You received bonus points for being a Veteran, a person of color, or a woman.

I got no bonus points.
