Inject yourself! |
https://www.inov-8.com/us/x-talon-255-mens I have these above and really like them but they are just slightly too narrow. They are the widest Inov-8 makes with the tread I’m looking for. Any suggestions? Gore-Tex would be nice and I’m not opposed to a higher ankle but want shoes not boots. This message has been edited. I am lurking to find a good option too. Fat, flat feet. Cross between a hobbit and Fred Flinstone lol. Merrell Moabs. Very comfortable trail shoes. Available in a variety of styles, and in wide width, and offered in low or mid rise, and then Ventilated (non-waterproof and perfect for normal casual wear), Waterproof (proprietary waterproofing that can get a little sweaty), or actual Goretex ($$$ but worth it if you need them to be waterproof). https://www.merrell.com/US/en/...n1=width&prefv1=Wide

Keen, Lowa, Timberland, Oboz, etc If you drill-down especially for specific brands you'll find those unique widths that are hard to find. EDIT- I jumped in with trail shoe recommendations but, not trail RUNNING shoes. Hoka and Altra would be my first choice to search. I do know Hoka in certain models, like their popular Speedgoat-franchise is offered in EE. Altra's with their wider toe-box also provides for more toe room. In the past, New Balance has always been the go-to brand for wider feet, don't forget them. This message has been edited. Last edited by: corsair,

Keen is well known for making shoe that runs wider than others, and they have a “wide” option on top of that. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I have wide feet and like New Balance. I wear them day to day, but also run in them and have backpacked in them with no problems. I prefer them to boots as they're much lighter.

+1 I have very unusual feet and find Brooks the only ones that fit me correctly. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag! The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money. - Margaret Thatcher Spread my work ethic, not my wealth

Salomon Speedcross. Bought them a couple of years ago for a 5k trail race. Great traction, quick drying. They have wide sizes available.

I second Mr.9mm suggestion on the Salomon Speedcross. My wife and I have been wearing them for years for shooting competitions. For us at our range they give us good traction and they are comfortable wearing all day. A lot of other people we shoot with also wear them. The only thing I have noticed is you have to watch the sizes. When I first starter wearing them I was wearing a size 13 in their Speedcross 3. Now I wear a size 14 in their Speedcross 4. In my case they ran a little small from style to style. If you buy them on line make sure who ever you buy them from does free returns. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. I’m a Danner guy. Their trail runners/hiking shoes are the Trail 2650’s. You can get goretex or no goretex. I just ran my lake trail with them yesterday. I like them so much I own 3 pair. One goretex and 3 different colors. I wait till there is a sale. Last pair was 90 bucks. They come in EE size as an option. Ever since I developed neuropathy in my feet I need wider shoes and love this option. Good luck.

I buy Brooks running shoes, which are great, but haven't tried their trail shoes yet.

Little ray of sunshine |
Go get them fit at a store. They all fit differently, and you can't really tell until you try them on. Altras work pretty well for me, and New Balance do, too. But you can't really say for sure until you try them. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

If you truly are going to be trail running I suggest you stay away from shoes that don’t have a form of “sole guard” to protect your foot from pointy rocks and roots. This is why normal running shoes make a somewhat poor trail runner. Each company calls it something else but make sure your pick has it. I loved my Altas but they don’t have any protection from what I remember, nor does New Balance.

Not sure this will work but look at new balance baseball turf shoe that could work, they also have a trail section that has wide shoes __________________________ The entire reason for the Second Amendment is not for hunting, it’s not for target shooting … it’s there so that you and I can protect our homes and our children and and our families and our lives. Find your local running store to eliminate shoes that won't fit. FleetFeet for example. P229

I have a pair of these and they are incredibly comfortable. The toe box is extra wide and all around quite an amazing shoe. https://www.topoathletic.com/mens-mtn-racer?color=85 The “lol” thread
