I'm invested in Ryobi and Milwaukee stuff and would prefer not to have to adopt another battery/charger form.

Not seeing ANYTHING in Milwaukee, and only 40V stuff for Ryobi.

Couple of years ago I was in the same boat. I couldn't find anything at all!

I ended up with the Stihl gas powered blower/leaf vac.

Sorry, Its not much help.

I'm happy with my Ryobi blower, don't have much need for a leaf vac here.
Also have the Whisper Series mower, and plan to add the weedeater at some point.

I do have a battery with a bad charge meter, shows empty when it's full,. No effect on 'range' but no indication of actual charge level, just blinks like empty the whole time.
Had one of my chargers go out as well.
Otherwise, happy with the Ryobi line

For my very small yard I use a Makita blower/vac. If the yard was larger I would spend the money on a Stihl.

About what I'm finding.

Not interested in another engine-powered device.

Might look harder at lawn sweepers.

We used to have a corded leaf vac. It sucked them up and even mulched them into smaller bits.
The problem is, the bag filled quickly and the smaller bits clogged the grinder. It didn't last long.

I think it makes more sense to blow them into an area where you can either mulch them or pick them up with a larger mower.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Not bad, but I'd hope they offer a bigger bag. That little grocery bag in the photo looks like it'd fill up in seconds.

My Stihl gas combi trimmer gave up this spring, so I found they sell the electric version,

I already had the hedge trimmer and sidewalker edger attachments,

they do a leaf blow attachment too,

might have considered it, however not needed for 2 reasons,

I just bought a gas powered blower the previous fall,
andI have a rather large yard to blow, so not sure it would do the work on one battery,

extra batteries are a bit expensive, and I would just use the blower in the fall mostly

Ditto for me, bought the exact same thing. I wanted Milwaukee since I already have the mower, hedge trimmer and blower.

Just turn the meter around. Big Grin

Well, if you don't want the 40v Ryobi, then go EGO, they introduced their leaf sucker product this year, neighbor has one and likes it.

Lot more power than Ryobi, metal blades to do the mulching, has a higher ratio mulching system than others so you use less bags

IMO, this is important. I've had both metal and plastic leaf vac blades, and the metal ones will last much longer. Plastic blades usually lasted one season of heavy use. Bearings wear out, too.

I picked up an Agri-Fab tow behind from Fleet Farm a few years when it was on sale.

While it's not as sturdy as I think it should be (I hit something low to the ground and it bent the ever lovin' snot out of the front, that metal is pretty thin), it works pretty well. It won't pick up every single leaf, but it sure beats a rake or blower. I can sweep up the leaves in my yard and dump them in the tree row out back in less than an hour while my neighbors spend all afternoon chasing leaves with their blowers.

I think I have arrived at a solution.

My Toro corded unit works fine but obviously not suitable for locations more than 25 or 50 feet from an outlet.

Another problem is (was...) buying something I'd use 2 or 3 days a year and then have to store. And, of course, the expense.

I got to looking into inverters and I can grab a 2000 watt modified sine unit for under $100 that will be useful for other tasks and easy to store due to it's small form factor.

The Toro is 12 amps at 120v or 1440 watts, so a 2KW inverter should handle it okay as well as an occasional drill or saw.

I'll hook up a pigtail on Guido which I use to haul the trailer to dump vac bags in anyway.

I think I paid $130 for a 100’ 10awg cooper extension cord last January.

I have one of those, but I'm not about to drag it all over the place. Don't think it'd reach anyway.

A friend woke up my other brain cell by asking if Guido's charging system has the capacity to run a 2KW inverter.

I seriously doubt it. In fact, I'm not sure the Kubota could handle it. The basic electrical formula P=IxE, converted to calculate amperage is I=P/E or 2000/12 or 167 amps. Pretty sure the alternator ain't gonna like that.

Shit.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
Power equals I-squared R.
