Welcome! As Sig2340 mentions, several of the ranges are showing their age. I think Blue Ridge is 30 years old or older, I go to an even older one near Lorton. NRA range is roughly 25 years old. I hit Elite 2-3 times a year, quite nice.

Welcome. Try and not get into the ($$$) Greenway habit if you can avoid it. Personally, I would appreciate it if you stayed off Rt-7 between ~9 and 10 Smile

What are you doing on the weekends???? We have lots of opportunities and openings in the Virginia Army National Guard. (Assuming you are <34, clean background and in good health). 11-c is paying a $20k signing bonus for 6 years, plus benefits etc. 3/116 IN is a great Battalion, we'd love to have some new blood.

I used to travel there for business about 10+ years ago, and it was already turning blue back then. Now it's completely fubared chock full of left wing ding bats and communists. I'll go there for a specific purpose if needed but I won't be hanging out with any lunatics. I'm sometimes annoyed talking with people who know everything about a topic but have not made any effort to actually learn anything about the topic, and worse, have zero desire to do so.

Welcome to Virginia.

There was a couple in a small rural community who wanted to screw but were afraid that they would get caught. They decided to dress up in cow costumes and go out into the field with a heard of cattle and go at it. They heard a noise and looked around to see a 1800lb bull pawing the ground about 20ft behind them.
Girl: OMG, what are we gonna do?
Guy: Well, I'm gonna graze my way over to that fence. You might wanna think about bracing up.

Brace up, matai. Big Grin

Welcome to Virginia, matai! My realtor kept suggesting South Riding to me, but I found a very nice home only six miles from my job in Ashburn, and I couldn't be happier.

My daughter and family just moved from the 20164 area to Haymarket, and I drive through the very pretty region to visit her: Brambleton, Arcola, and points south. Loudoun county has some of the best planning in the nation, which explains why it's the fastest-growing and one of the wealthiest communities in the USA.

My favorite LGS is Nova Armament in Herndon. There is also Sterling Armory just a few miles away. The recently-moved and completely built from the ground up Silver Eagle Group range and community center is closer than Blue Ridge (and much nicer, IMO). If you want outdoor shooting, Clark Brothers in Warrenton or the Isaac Walton League (one in Leesburg, one in Brentsville/Bristow) may be for you.

The naysayers have too much fluff between their ears. I love living in this area! All I have to do is avoid the politics.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

FP, congrats to your daughter on escaping Sterling, I pray I can soon. It's the armpit of Loudoun.

I prefer Blue Ridge to SEG. More F150's in the parking lot and less BMWs. Plus I've been going since I was a child, to me that s-hole it what a range is supposed to be. I may check out the new SEG, but I'm guessing it's nothing special too.

Never been to Herndon gun shop, but I stay away from Sterling Aresenal. They wouldn't receive a gun for me because they sold it. I asked them to make it competitive with the online price and I'd happily pay more locally. No deal, wouldn't even take off $5. Sorry I like to buy local, but I will not overpay by $200. Loudoun Guns (Leesburg) is awesome only purchased accessories from them so far. Super nice guys, AND they actually know a thing or two about guns.

We need to get a NoVA meet up done! Maybe we'll let Shugart come up if he's on his best behavior.
