Is that swearing in even official? Put the hand on whatever you want, but raise your right hand and have palm forward.
They had to redo Obama's first swearing in because Justice Roberts messed up the words.

I was thinking the exact same thing...and no, it’s not because she’s black.
Young, inexperienced and a “stick it to the man” attitude. That’s right there with, “the rules don’t apply to me.”
She will eventually find out that the rules she wants to break do indeed apply to her.

TMatsI learned something in this thread. See I thought placing your hand on the Bible was about swearing an oath to God. I had no idea that you can use any dang book you want. Apparently, I could swear an oath of office on Betty Crocker’s ubiquitous red and white plaid cookbook.
