Other than Jomashop?

Authorized dealers would be nice but I could deal with others similar to Jomashop but Joma doesn’t have all items of interest.

I’m not on any watch forums. I’m primarily interest in new items but new old stock works.

David Truong is/was a Ball Watch dealer, check with him. As for Omegas, I doubt anyone deep discounts them. Jomashop might be your best bet. Others can chime in on this.

Anyway, check with David and tell him what you’re looking for.

In July, I got an authorized dealer in the local area to match a Chronos 24 offer from someone in the local area too but wouldn't have been an AD. I did it via email. Went and picked it up myself. Threw in a couple of straps, one was an Omega rubber strap and the other a generic but color matching NATO strap.

This was in July. I think they would be even more flexible now to make deals.

Little Switzerland is where I got my omega a few years ago. Thy are doing 10 percent off right now. I know at the time I paid about 1200 less there than anywhere in the US for my Seamaster 300m.

Here's what happened.

I have been looking into a nicer automatic watch for a while. I'm really not looking to spend retail Seamaster prices, but they are probably my favorite. It's not that I can't, it's just harder to justify spending that on myself for a watch.

In the mean time, I have been browsing online trying to find something I really like, yet seems more reasonable price wise. I am picky as to the styling and I certainly want to feel like I am getting more for my money.

I picked out a Ball watch I really, really liked. It reminded me of an Omega Deville Prestige. I put it in a list with a few others of lesser price for my wife since she wanted to get me something nice for Christmas. She actually picked my favorite.

She bought it at Jomashop on Black Friday.

https://www.jomashop.com/ball-...h-nm1060d-sj-bk.html

When she bought it said shipping in 5-7 days. In about a week it not only showed up as In Stock, it had a new $150 off coupon - even better, they were going to give it to her for that too off the $895 it had been.

That brings us to today. After many attempts at contacting them over the past couple weeks, it had not shipped even though she had paid for it. On Thursday it said out of stock once again. They never sought to tell her it would not ship.

Finally it sounds like they can't get that model any more. They offered her a very different Ball, which I guess is a revised model and no where near as nice looking - 4:30 date and different face.

She is bummed because she was excited to give me the watch I really wanted and now we are closer to Christmas, the sales and stock on similar items are drying up. I told her its not a big deal, we can wait until after Christmas and eventually I'll find something I like whenever it is in stock and on a sale or something. She's not happy with that idea.

I'm browsing, but even though this is a mid-range watch, to me it will be my every day watch for maybe years.

I was hoping there may be some other reputable dealers. I don't think Ball is worth MSRP. The Omega is probably not one I would talk myself into, but I like to at least compare.

I may look at Oris as well as Ball. I want a Swiss automatic in the style like I linked. Stainless bracelet. But I do love that black/blue dial Oris Aquis.

High end would be the Deville Prestige, but unlikely unless a really good deal. Like I said, I just don't see myself splurging that much on a watch. In that range I think I'd rather splurge on a Diver 300m or PO 600m.

Hopefully there are sites that offer decent deals on Ball or similar. I do like their Fireman Series as well.

Have you looked at DavidSW.
I have done business with him in the past and is very easy to deal with.
You can request a watch you may be looking for that he does not have listed and he may be able to get it.
This is a link to his website.

Also there is always our very own David Truong who is a member here.

I've had problems getting service on Omegas bought from non-authorized dealers. You might want to look into that before you buy. (And yes, automatics usually need some regular tune ups to keep working well.)

Jared Jewelry stores AD that carry Omega. I got 10% discount on a Speedmaster 5 years ago. I suspect same discount is still available.

Take a look at www.Christopherward.com

They make wonderful watches that punch far above their price tag. I currently have 3 in my rotation. I currently have a C60 Trident on my wrist that I enjoy every bit as much as my Rolex Sub. The C60 Sapphire is just stunning in person. My wife bought one for me as an anniversary present. CW is currently running a promo for $125 off.

I don't blame you, that blue Aquis with the black bezel is really attractive. I've been lusting after that one for several years.

My wife and I were looking at a Tudor watch yesterday she may be interested in. We were looking at the 1926 series.
The 1926 series looks very similar to the ball watch you are looking at.
It is more expensive but it is made by Tudor.
If you are not familiar with Tudor they are a sister company to Rolex.
Just a thought.

Here is a link to their site for the watches I am talking about. This is the 41mm version

https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/...hes/1926/m91650-0002

This is the 39mm version. This is the about the same size of the Ball watch you are looking at.

Tourneau is running a promo for 15% off one item. You should check them out. They have new and certified pre-owned. I have been looking at Omegas on their site.

The Tudor 1926 and Oris Big Crown ProPilot Date were also considerations.
I’m torn between the sporty looking ceramic bezel models and the classic date only styles. This would be for wearing with everything from shorts to suits.

I saw your Tissot in the watch thread and love it as well.

I found a Oris dealer somewhat close to me that beats online prices so I am currently dancing around like a kid pointing at the ice cream truck trying to direct my wife's attention that way.
