So in lieu of tinting what about pull shades or something similar to keep vehicles bearable during summer. Thoughts. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

While driving? I think there are visibility requirement laws that prevent obscuring certain windows.

Only place I have consistently seen this done was in the mid-east (UAE, Dubai, Kuwait, Iraq, etc). Whenever I see them in the states, I think of those places. Life moves pretty fast. Not really from Vienna |
I remember as a kid back in the 1960s somebody I knew had a car with perforated aluminum venetian blind-type shades in the back passenger door windows and rear glass. Probably a car belonging to an old grandpa.

We keep one of the reflective windshield shades in the car and use it when it is parked and out in the sun. It works.

I've been using the Heatshield brand of sunshade for 15+ years now in all my cars, and recommend them. Unlike the cheap ones you can buy at AutoZone or Walmart, you get one made specifically to fit your car and IIRC you can get them made for rear windows and moon/sun roofs too. They roll up quickly and only take an extra 10-15 seconds to put in each time. I HATE getting into a car that is 300 degrees in the summer and these make a big difference: Heatshield

Thanks guys. I do use a cheapish reflective one in the front windshield and it works. Looking for something to use in side windows. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

So we just mo Ed to Texas, and I was wondering abou this very thing.... My truck was factory tinted, but I could use a windshield thingy. Mrs. Mike may need her Altima tinted. I used reflective ‘bubble wrap’ (Reflectix) from Home Depot or Lowe’s to make custom sun shades for my Land Cruiser. Some of them I cut out to fit in the window track and others I put Velcro on the edges and the window frame to hold them in place. It works great and they fold up when not in use. The side windows worked well when driving with dogs in the summer to keep them in the shade. I also made one for the sunroof. Kevin

Any particular reason you do not want tint?? Makes a huge difference. Every car I purchase is tinted the day I get it. Always get it added as part of purchase if I buy from a dealer. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. Thanks Kevin, I like the idea. I will try that. I appreciate the thoughts and advice guys. BLX, expense of tinting. Right now I need to do things like this on the cheap. "Practice like you want to play in the game"
