This is the only collapsible I have carried or would carry. That being said, they’re heavy bastards.

I agree this is the best of the best Retractable baton. Can be expanded by pulling the top of the baton. The weight is in the striking end not the handle for better sticking force. Larger in diameter much like a normal wooden baton.
I will never Cary a asp type baton again.
I have a family member that works in different parts of the world where you can not carry a firearm so he carries a Peace Keeper.

What length would you recommend? 26" maybe?

The RCMP has adapted the riding crop into a good baton. Top item in the picture below. When held by the woven end, it is a typical riding crop. Turn it around and hold it by the twitch end, and you have a rioting crop, with some flex to give it extra momentum. The woven end/handle is filled with lead or something very heavy. An RCMP officer gave this one to my wife while she was still on active horse-mounted duty. There are "police equestrian" competitions where officers from all over come to compete, and that is where she met him.

ETA: The twitch looks new, because it is. I had my favorite local saddlemaker replace it after one of our dogs chewed on the original. The original was stamped "RCMP" on the inside.

When in doubt, mumble

In my pre-being able to own a gun days, I had a nice fan belt on a handle.

It took the fight right out of a bully.
