Naturally, the cynical and skeptical question this clip.

Q: Why was this filmed? That is to say, how did the person who filmed it know to record this action?

A: Because they're sitting there with phone in hand already, browsing it as people do. They see a man to their left begin to take off his shoes- an unusual thing to do in public, and begin recording, not knowing what might happen next.

Q: How did the rabbi know the shoes would fit?

A: He didn't, but he saw the bare feet of the other man, and he knows the size of his own feet and could therefore make a good guess. If you turn the volume up, you can hear people clapping after the shoes do fit.

My impression is the clip is authentic and shows a spontaneous act of humanity. It's not all bad out there. Not everyone is angry and crazy.

Keep a good thought and have a good week.

Shalom

Thank you. I’ve certainly become cynical, and need this kind of reminder to believe in the good of people.

John 13:22-17

“So when He had washed their feet and put on His robe and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you understand what I have done for you? You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is who I am. So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet as well. For I gave you an example, so that you should do as I did to you. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you put them into practice.”

It's one thing to go through life knowing that you are fortunate,
But helping others know that they to are fortunate is part of that.

For today is the day the Lord has made, and generously offered to me. May God’s will keep me on the path of peace through hearing His word and following His guidance in everything I do.

For the past three years, I have gone down to Webster Spring West Virginia to work on peoples homes. Since the coal industry has taken a massive hit down there people are in need of help.

Fixing these homes and the gratitude, gratefulness, hospitality of West Virginians makes it all the worthwhile helping them out.

We too easily forget because of our cynicism that people are just down on their luck and need a small act of kindness.

Good on the Rabbi, I hope more acts of kindness happens.
