That was a little too close for comfort. Good save by the pilot.

Only a plane with an amazing thrust to weight ration could have gotten out of what looked to be an unrecoverable ground impact! Did the pilot have a temporary mental lapse or physical emergency at the time? I suspect he had to grab a fresh pair of undies after landing.

The odd thing is that he stalled it during a fairly benign maneuver. Attention lapse? I think the Spaniards will be finding a new demo pilot soon. Lol

I don't know what they call that in pilotese, but that dude looked very close to running out of air and lift.

That’s an amazing recovery. That would have killed a lot of spectators.

seen some experienced pilots do something similar but...
not when heading toward a beach full spectators.
and the pilots I saw do the something similar did it on purpose and their wings' attitude were not that wonky that close to the surface.

He was getting yelled at by Leslie Shook, a woman from my area.

Every technician and every pilot who has trained on or flown in an F-18 has heard Leslie’s stern commands. Her voice is affectionately known in the fighter jet world as Bitchin’ Betty.
I’ve done the very same maneuver multiple times while flying the F/A-18 through the Grand Canyon (MS Flight Simulator) the only difference is I usually end up bouncing off the cliff face and slowly falling down to the Colorado River.
Side note - kinda pissed they pussified MSFS no more glorious fireball crashes, just bounce around and end upside down

You couldn’t have shoved a toothpick up his but with a sledgehammer after that maneuver. I’m sure he got a stern talking to.

Seems like it's time for retraining and practicing whatever that was at altitude under supervision.
