Agreed, probably won't happen, but how is this click bait? It is reporting what a presidential office-seeker actually said.

Nope, does not meet the definition:

Clickbait, a form of false advertisement, uses hyperlink text or a thumbnail link that is designed to attract attention and to entice users to follow that link and read, view, or listen to the linked piece of online content, with a defining characteristic of being deceptive, typically sensationalized or misleading.

Doesn't sound so bad to me, except they'll want to end my SS, which is more. I'd buy into it if they eliminated all government pensions at the same time. No reason to pay huge pensions and the $1000 per month. I'd bet those with gold pensions that pay huge multiples of it won't be happy.

Yeah, why stop at $1000? And do we get cash for flu season next year? How bad does flu season or any other bad thing have to be before we get some money?

Get people hooked on it and they won't want to give it up. They'll choose to keep the money train rolling and give dems power again.

In my personal thesaurus click bait is also posting extreme (sensational) topics on message boards to get a reaction. Kinda like trolling but in a benign way.

How about we all settle for a 12 pack of toilet paper? It’s a more reasonable limit.

The pandering has reached epidemic proportions. I think we’re at the end of the ‘Tytler Cycle’.

I think the idea has merit...however, to quote Margaret Thatcher:“Socialism is fine until you run out of other people’s money.”

Whenever the Dems are asked to explain where the money comes from to spend, they become catatonic.

A one-time payment would likely go to stimulate a
COVID 19 damaged economy and help low wage hourly workers that were laid off. I am not smart enough to figure out how to do it...maybe the politicians are.

Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) called for introducing a universal basic income (UBI) of $1,000 a month until coronavirus "no longer presents a public health emergency."

"Most Americans don't have that safety emergency bank account even for a short term, what to speak of if you're talking about weeks, or in this case people are looking at potentially months," Gabbard said in an interview on Hill.TV.

Her proposal, H.R. 897, would give a UBI of $1,000 per month to all adult Americans “until COVID-19 no longer presents a public health emergency.”

The idea of a UBI of $1,000 a month was made popular by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, who made the program a centerpiece of his campaign.

Coronavirus has killed at least 40 Americans and there are more than 1,700 cases nationwide as of Friday morning, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The spread of the virus has sparked wide concerns about the economy, leading to the cancellation of numerous events and conferences.

Gabbard remains in the presidential though her campaign is widely seen as unviable. Former Vice President Joe Biden has built a wide lead in the delegate count for the Democratic nomination followed by his chief rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
. Hum, until the virus crisis is over the Guvmnt will give each a 1000 a month. Knowing the Dumbycrats today and their (buy votes) ideas, they would keep the virus around forever.

Ok, give everyone $1k a month, then shut down all forms of welfare. That’s about the only way it makes sense.

Do people know we have to borrow that $$ to give away? At some point the whole federal budget is taken to service borrowing, then what?

I know, people don’t like to think about that, carry on.

The idea is starting to grow on me. I think I may like it. Just give everyone the grand. Then also make it taxable. Along with all other government pensions and welfare. Fully taxable. If you take the money, you've gotta pay income tax on it. No deductions or exemptions, pay your tax. Next April 15th. If you don't pay, you either go to jail or become ineligible forever for government giveaway's. Its time everyone pays their fair share. Even Trump and Bloomberg gets their grand, but must pay tax on it. Yep, I'm starting to like it.

And I like the idea of her being nekkid.
