Been looking on YouTube and there aren't many great tutorials.

I have found the trail that I want to do and have saved the trail to off line maps.
Still trying to figure out how to send it to my watch but the thing I am most trying to figure out is how do I find a location for the trail head that I can send to Google Maps or somewhere else so I can actually drive to get to the trail?

Also it would kind of be nice if the Garmin Explore app was available on the Mac computers for large screen for at home prep.

Not familiar with Explore, but if you can drop a pin on the TH then glean the lat/lon, you can use that in Google Maps. I usually use decimal degrees (e.g., 33.494691, -81.997464) for ease of copying.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

I've it used several times; mainly hiking and kayaking. It's been a while, but I just opened it and brought up the map and added a waypoint on a well known landmark. As soon as I did it (but before clicking to confirm) a box opened with this Lat/Long: 30.274866 -97.740531 (don't forget the minus sign).

I think all you need to do at this point is to sync with your watch. I didn't check because I've been using my Venu 3 for a couple of years and haven't synced my Garmin Instinct Solar since.

For your specific question about locating the trail to drive there, I use the AllTrails app.

Black92XL, I just recorded a morning walk with my Garmin Venu 3 and attempted to sync the data to Explore. A little digging revealed that the Venu has very limited mapping capability (more of a health tracker than expedition device) and won't work for that.

Thanks for starting this thread. We're doing a trip to New England this summer and I was planning to track some of our boat tours with my Venue. Trying to answer your question saved me from some disappointment. Now I'll be sure to haul the Instinct along too, since I know it'll do what I want.

Seems like there would be some better tutorials on YouTube. I know there are so many more things I can do with this watch just not sure how to do them.

It looks like for the premapped trails once I get to the trail head I click navigate on the app and it sends the map/route to my watch.

Need to find a trail close to the house and try it.
