I have a Celestron C8/AVX. Up till now, I've powered it using a power cord plugged into a wall outlet. Next month I'm going with some friends out into the desert for a small star party, and I need a portable power option. Are there better options than the Celestron Power Tank? Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ

A 12v to 120v car adapter and 12v lawnmower battery. It's how I power mine. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.

Just wondering if there was something better or maybe cheaper (maybe something without the 'Celestron' label) Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ

I power mine with a small 12V battery directly, no inverter needed since all my telescopes require 12V DC.

How do you connect the battery to the scope? Do you use a rechargeable battery? Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ
