Septoplasty sucks, BTDT, but I would go through that several times versus kidney stone issues. Now that SOB hurt so bad I wanted anything that the doc could inject me with to ease the pain. You ought to post your experience on the ENT website with PICS.

Last time I was in the ENT office getting cleaned out he said I had an infection and took a culture. It’s a staph infection. The nurse called me Thursday night to tell me they were calling in an antibiotic. I waited until noon on Friday and called the pharmacy to see if it was ready. They said “what your doctor called in (Dicloxacillin Sodium) is on back order for the next month. We left a message with your doctor that they’d need to call in an equivalent. “ Um, ok, except my doctor closes on Friday at noon. So I called the emergency on-call doctor, and they prescribed Ampicillin. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a staph infection, but googling it can sure scare the hell out of you. Maybe this explains why I’ve felt like shit for the last 2 weeks? Anybody else had a staph infection? Is it common? _________________________ You do NOT have the right to never be offended.

Yes. Several times per year. It lives in your nose most of the time. Easily treated unless it is MRSA which yours is not. Common after surgery.

As per another thread, I'll note that 19 years ago I got hooked on Afrin (on and off, but generally, on) following this surgery. Tread lightly.
