Jesus, Mary and Joseph. STFU and comply with the officer. And woman, damn. I wouldn't be able to tolerate your loudmouthed non-stop crap for more than 30 seconds in person.

I used to get excited over these types and their antics. Now, not so much. Actually, not at all.

At my age I don't have time to spend dealing with these IDIOTS

Were I a police officer having to deal with them my patience would run out about 30 seconds into the encounter.

My brother is a retired commandant of a state police agency. His patience for these idiots is about the same as mine. Zero.

I encountered one of these types when I was a cop, since I already had him for an arrestable offense- as soon as he started yabbering on, I placed him on cuffs and took him to the magistrate...took all of sixty seconds to get him hooked up from the time I got out of my patrol car, probably less.

Now the trip downtown was the longest five minutes of my life having to deal with his stupidity.

I don’t suffer fools.

Would love to know how that played out in court. That video was the best witness against the SJWs possible! Ol' Anthony was probably enjoying the peace and quiet.

It's not only law enforcement that has to deal with these lunatics. As a manager at a Social Security Office, I had two run ins with these idiots before my retirement. One guy came in, announced that he was a sovereign citizen, and was there to apply for a refund of all of his SS taxes, in return for a promise never to collect any "federal benefits." He had this document that he had signed that had come from some sort of sovereign citizen newsletter. He said he wasn't going to leave until we accepted his document and committed to giving him his refund. So the guard and I responded. He got loud and arrogant. I explained that this was not going to end well for him. Unless he left, he would face federal charges, not a local disorderly conduct charge. Interfering with a federal employee in the performance of his lawful duties could get him 10 years. He left after a profanity laced tirade and didn't come back. A second guy came in, announced he was a sovereign citizen, presented some stupid document, and said we could no longer withhold child support from his check. He left peacefully, however he wound up coming back several times speaking to different employees with the idea that he would get a different answer. On his last visit he did get loud and out of control (probably didn't take his meds that day.) He wound up exiting the office before local law enforcement could arrive to assist the guard. Never saw him again. They are all ass holes. But some of them do have some serious mental health issues. All of them are potentially dangerous.

Is it a sin that I am somewhat disappointed in the outcome of the video, in that mouthy chick didn't get arrested in as satisfying a manner as I'd hoped for? It's a sin, right?

Ugh. He's wearing a Farragut sweatshirt. I'm ashamed he's from my state, but apparently we still know how to grow them around here.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Had they just STFU and complied with the officer's requests, it oiled have been a ticket, or maybe only a warning, and been on their way.
They must have come from the shallow end of the gene pool.

These guys are idiots, no doubt.

But why should the passenger have to identify himself in a traffic stop? I think he is well within his rights to decline that. Maybe state laws disagree, but unless the passenger is suspected of a crime, he should not have to show. I wouldn't.

I am not an attorney, or a cop. It's not against the law to be an asshole. However, the drivers demeanor and confrontational approach would have raised a concern on the part of the officer that he may be dealing with a fugitive or god knows what. For his safety an investigation in my opinion would be warranted. There may be a state law that requires that the passenger identify himself as well.

So apparently this was in Alabama and they are one of the “stop and ID” states.

Understanding an Officer can always ASK for ID, it looks like they still need to have reason to believe a crime was or about to be committed though for it to be REQUIRED for a passenger to comply.

So I am curious even though they were total douches, why was the passenger expected to present ID? Officer never articulated any suspicion.

Was this a legit case of failing to provide ID as required by law or did it escalate based on Deputies response to “contempt of cop”?

This is very foreign to me, WA state pretty much has castrated police power on vehicle stops. Can’t ask passenger for ID (unless adult not wearing seatbelt, has open container, etc) can’t stop/question passenger if they get out of vehicle and start walking away during traffic stop, can’t search/inventory vehicle prior to impound if driver arrested...

For discussion purposes, was the demand lawful? Would like to know what if any citation issued and how it all turned out.

Really was hoping the loud mouthed “little woman” would get to ride the lightning...

I don't know if it has changed here in FL or not but in the past you did not have to provide an ID unless you were doing something like driving that required one. You were required to provide your name and birth date when asked and it was a crime to provide false info.

Depending on what we were doing we often went out without a wallet.

I don't know why he let her roam around like that. She should have been ordered to stay in the car or put in cuffs - not allowed to wonder around and get out in the roadway, etc.
