Need coffee maker and phone speaker suggestions
So looking for suggestions for a couple gifts for the misses. She has recently become a coffee snob so she wants a " nice" coffee maker....not sure what dictates nice but under $200 would be ideal.

Also looking for a speaker to play music from her phone, doesn't have to be bluetooth but would prefer something loud enough to cover the living room and maybe drown out her singing Big Grin....love her dearly but she is tone deaf, unfortunately I am not...

Preferably under $100 if possible.

Speaker: Your local wireless phone store carries speakers. I recently saw several on working display. Small but sounded good. Pricey. Sonos is a popular brand; also pricey.

Can't help with the coffee maker, but my wife and I have been very happy with the UE Boom bluetooth speakers for music. A friend bought a cheaper look-alike after hearing ours, and was not happy with it. He ultimately replaced his original purchase with a UE model and is now happy.

The best way to enjoy coffee is a french press. You can get a basic one for 10.00. Get a nice conical burr grinder for 80.00. And never look back.

For a coffee maker Costco has a nice Cuisinart 14 cup. It has the cone shaped basket, and makes pretty good coffee.

I have recently replaced the one I was using with the same model as the previous one gave me many years of service.

You can get the coffee maker at Costco.com for about $70.00

I use an OXO 9 cup.

One of the few that is SCAA-certified to produce 197-204 degree water, and it does an amazing job. So ridiculous easy to clean, and use.

$159.96, Prime Excellent price.

Good luck!

The Bona Vita coffee maker is good for coffee snobs on a budget. Usually rates just below the Technivorm and is <$200. I haven't looked at recent reviews but I bought mine several years ago and it is still running like a champ.

If you get a Bunn I'd suggest avoiding the My Cafe single-serve model based on my experience. We've used it a about two years and the replacement we got is now acting up again. Works decent but I've had issues with both units (original and warranty replacement). One unit had excessive pressure that blew off the coffee strainer all over my kitchen. The other is leaking water randomly. Bunn customer service is good but I think this model just isn't as well engineered as it could be.

I bought a refurb Technivorm from Amazon, I think it was about $250, and have used it ever since. Is it dramatically better than the Kenmore I was using? No, but at least I know it doesn't get better than this.
Also, that I am virtue-signaling to my SigForum colleagues that I am one of the elite. Big Grin

If you think she’d be OK with a pour over coffee maker, check out chemex. Quite a bit lower than your budget. It makes some of the best, “cleanest” tasting coffee you can get. Of course, it’s a manual process so she may not want that.

Technivorm!

Use a Bed, Bath and Beyond coupon, it will be slightly above your target price but worth every cent and I'm sure most any coffee snob would love to have one. I prefer the glass container ones as I can taste metal. Not everyone has that ability but just in case she does go for the glass.

Last I knew the Techinivorm brewers were the best in drip coffee makers. But they're spendy.

Next up I think is, or used to be, the Bonavita or Bunn drip machines.

The Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central is the one I've been using for years, and it's not half bad. At $65 on Amazon, it's definitely in your range. (Easily-obtained locally, as well.)

What I'm using now? Now I'm using an AeroPress. Fast, easy, and makes a superior cup of coffee.

I use a metal mesh filter, instead of paper, so I get all the oils. (Always did the same in my drip machine.)

I grind using a Capresso 565.05 Infinity Conical Burr Grinder, Stainless Steel

The best coffee brewing system in the world is wasted without good beans, properly ground.

That's the one we've had for years as well.
It's good for the money... but I would like to try the Techinivorm next.
We do have a french press, great for a couple of cups, but not good if you need volume.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Purchased the UE Wonderboom for my 11yo son and it is great, waterproof too.

I am the only one that drinks coffee in my house so I have the Technovorm Cup One. Makes an excellent cup of coffee with easy clean up. LINK

Chemex pour over coffee maker. Not very expensive.

As for speakers...if it doesn't have to be portable, I highly recommend the Google Home.

My vote as well.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I second the UE Boom, I have the Boom 2 and LOVE it (haven't heard the 3 yet, but I assume it's better?)
