YYZ ranges from high trebles to lots of bass.

I was thinking the same thing. Then I realized that Jeremy is only a few years younger than I am. What made me feel old, is that I let myself. I used to always say “age is just a number”. I need to remind myself that there are guys like V-Tail who are almost twice my age and probably more active than I am.

Oh, to be of the age I can do things without the aches and pains…

As far as music, Beachcoma and Finished Symphony by Hybrid. They’re a Welch electronic group that worked with the Russian Federal Orchestra and made some cool music.

Descending by Tool

If you can stream from your phone, play this. It’s got some good highs and lows. It’s also an incredible piece of music. https://youtu.be/GBaHPND2QJg

Clapton Unplugged

Quality audio is not about volume, it's about articulation.

I also fear it will be a waste of time because of the road noise from the tires. You really need a quiet cabin to make it work.

One that I haven’t seen mentioned is

The 1812 Overture by the Chicago Symphony.

They used 105 mm howitzers for the canon shots. It’s a wide range piece with plenty of low volume passages as well as high volume parts. Warning! You can damage speakers and amps with this, I burned an amp once, so take it easy the first time around.

not that any of the past suggestions were wrong, they were not,

however this play list is more my speed,

add Eno/Bryne Strange Overtones

Kate Bush, Somewhere in Between

Brubeck's Take 5

damn near anything Kraftwerk,

Stanglers, Raven, Duchess, No More Heros or a host of other songs that has JJ pounding that bass,

edited to add, Morrissey's All You Need is Me is a damn good tune when played on a good system

Any Beethoven symphony - pick your favorite.

But it is a car system so there are inherent limits. If you really want to hear the music, play it at home.

Yello - One Second

The entire album is good, but La Habenera, in particular (if you have a good sound system on your computer, with capable low end, turn it up):

I don't recall how I got turned on to this album, but, back when it was released I was so impressed with it I bought copies for each of my closest three friends at the time and gave them to them as Christmas presents.

I had them over for Christmas, told them "Listen to this," and put on La Habenera. They were blown away. Then I gave them their gifts Smile

interesting,

before this album was out, and when everyone had a set of Jensen 6x9's in the rear deck of the car, I had heard that the first Car's album was mixed to sound best in a typical 70's sedan (with said Jensen's in the back)

Telegraph Road - Dire Straits studio version. Well-engineered recording.
Male vocals can be a challenge for many systems. Think Pery Como, Andy Willims, Dean Martin type smooth singing voice. Whoever you like and are familiar with their sound.
Good jazz recording like one of my favorites, East River Drive by Stanley Clarke.
Several good examples already of low bass songs to try

This will give you an idea of capabilities of a system.

Enjoy your adventure.
