My diabetes doc told me normal cholesterol will kill a diabetic. Over time I came to disbelieve it. My family doc reduced it to 5mg, not to reduce cholesterol but to protect my blood vessels from the natural degeneration induced by the diabetes itself. A journey for sure, something to consider for other diabetics with otherwise good to acceptable cholesterol.
